Blueberry-Lemon Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
followed directions as written; however, added two tsp of lemon juice to mix and create a lemon juice/powder sugar glaze for the top. It cooked 20 minutes longer than recommended.

Followed others advice: an extra 1/2 cup of flower, an extra 1/2 cup of peanut butter (used creamy), and a teaspoon of vanilla. Cooked 10 minutes at 375.

Bourbon Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
chicken was delicious, will definitely make again. The sauce was a little too much, and barely used it.

Easy Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
My 14 month old clapped for more, and my picky Italian husband asked for seconds. Added oregano (1t) , basil (1 1/2 T), and parsley (2 T) and 2 cloves of garlic to the onions before adding tomato products. Also added 5 chopped up slices of prosciutto to the onions b/c we were looking to use it up.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Delicious. Made exactly per the recipe, except used canned sweet potatos. Husband who doesn't like sweet potatos had two helpings. 1 year old loved (w/out topping).

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
Delicious. I did sear the meat first with olive oil, pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Then, poured the pan drippings into the crock pot. I used 2 cans of soup, a 1/2 can of water, the dried soup mix, and added a diced onion. Cooked the 3 lb roast on low for 7 hours, high for 1 hour. I added the carrots and quartered potatoes in 2 hours after the roast started -- they tasted perfect. After pulling meat and veges out, put two tablespoons of flour into crock pot and turned it on high to thicken gravy.

Fantastic Black Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
fantastic -- used 1 can cuban black beans, 1 can corn, and 1 can garbonzo beans (all from Trader Joes). Didn't drain. Used only a small can of crushed tomatoes and 1 lb 1/3 of ground turkey.

Rigatoni with Eggplant, Mushrooms and Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
As someone who likes goat cheese - I believe it's a 4 star recipe w/out goat cheese, 5 star with. Goat cheese definitely provides the texture. However, what I like about the recipe is that you can just leave the goat cheese out of the portion you're serving to anyone who doesn't like goat cheese - and they'll still love the sauce. Doesn't seem to freeze great for me (I've tried freezing without the goat cheese).

Maryland Crab Cakes III

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2003
Fabulous - and so easy to make! My friends are demanding more and begging for the recipe. I used Phillips canned crab from Costco and served them with a simple avacado/mango/lime juice salsa. I left out the celery and prepared them the night before w/out any problems. 1 batch makes 6 cakes.
