Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
Fantastic! I followed directions and used all the butter called for and it was great! After the 45mins was up, I uncovered the chops and turned on the broiler and I let them broil for about 15minutes to get them crispy. It worked!! But the butter in the baking dish also burned a little...so maybe put broiler on low.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
Great. I cheated though: I used Frozen meatballs from Costco. I put all the ingrediants in the crockpot and cooked on high for 4 hours. Came out fantastic!!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
Best ever! I did not make any changes to the recipe. Tip: I reserved a little bit of the onion soup mix and cream of mushroom soup. My meat was not completely submerged so I sprinkled the reserved onion soup mix onto the meat(making sure it was coated) and then I topped it off with a little bit of mushroom soup (enough to cover it). Cover and cook for 9 hours! Perfect! :)

Chicken Tortilla Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
The taste of the chicken 'mixture' was good. Nothing spectacular here, but a good remedy for when you don't know what to make for dinner. My variations: I added a can of corn to the mixture for more filling. I garnished the top layer with green onions (yum!). I also used low sodium mushroom and chicken soup (wasn't salty at all). I cooked each tortilla in oil for about 5 seconds on each side (like enchiladas). I used the whole amount of chicken broth called for and it wasn't runny (I made sure to add the broth to the chicken and I mixed it real good to let the chicken soak it in for a few minutes). Oh, I used canned chicken drained very well. I will file this recipe away and will use it in the future.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
Delicious! My family loved it. I accidentaly added the whole can of jalepenos instead of what was called for. It made the spread spicer...everyone still enjoyed it, but I would have preferred less 'jalapeno' taste. So watch your measurements. :)

Awesome Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
My husband and I wanted to use our toaster oven. We set our toaster oven to "bake" as opposed to "toast, grill or broil". Followed the recipe exactly and we came up with perfect grilled cheese sandwiches. I loved them and my husband liked them. He said he prefers greesy grilled cheese sandwiches...maybe I will add more butter next time and I will use the "GRILL" feature on my toaster oven. Thanks for the recipe.

Watergate Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
GREAT!!! Made it for Thankgiving and everyone ate it all up. Very sweet though. BUt delicious!! Next time I will add less nuts. Note: I have made this recipe several times this month. If yours turns out a little to sweet, add a little more Cool Whip until you get the taste you want. I always add more cool whip. The first time I made it, it was too sweet, but I think I have perfected it. Thanks!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2007
Everyone, including me, LOVED this recipe!! I made it for thanksgiving and it was the first dish to go. Everyone had seconds and thirds. I followed the recipe exactly. It was the perfect combination of everything. I have been asked to bring this again for our Christmas dinner. I hate the Cream of Mushroom/chicken taste in other recipes...so this was the perfect recipe for me. I added enough cheese to cover the top...I didn't measure I just shredded right on the casserole. Oh..and I didn't add the crunchy top...I left it out because I forgot..lol I made this the night before, stored it in the fridge and then baked for 30 mins the next day. YUMMY!!!

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly and it was excellent!! I love sweet lemonade and this is perfect. Add a little less sugar if you prefer a slightly tarter lemonade. It tastes just like the famous "Hotdog on a stick" lemonade (which is my favorite lemonade ever!) The second time I made this I added about 1/2cup of freshly sliced strawberries to the pan when I was making the simple syrup...and wow!! I made the best strawberry lemonade ever!! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2007
Great taste!! We liked it a lot! I used chicken thighs instead of breast. Note:If you turn the chicken frequently while frying, the crumbs WILL fall off. I cooked my chicken on medium to low and covered it and cooked it for about 20 minutes only turning ONCE. It was moist, the crumb mixture stayed put and we ate it all up!

Chili Rellenos Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2007
Delicious!! I used fresh chilis (a lot of work roasting and peeling them) and I added 1 extra egg. I omitted the tomato sauce and made my own sauce. It was great! This is a good tasty dish! However, if you use a tomato sauce it will NOT taste authentic. Using tomato sauce in a chili relleno recipe is NOT authentic. Soo...if your looking for the authentic taste you would get in your favorite mexican food place...this is not it...You need to add other ingredients to the tomato sauce. If you want a yummy dish that the whole family will love...this is it! Use fresh chilis and your own mexican chili and it will be the real deal.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
These beans were delicious! I used to cook them in the Pot for 4 hours with only onion and salt...but WOW...THIS IS MY NEW RECIPE!! I only added 3 teaspoons of salt and will add only 1 tablespoon of garlic next time. I cooked them on High for 8 hours as called for in the recipe and they came out great!! After they were done cooking,I served a bowl to my husband ( frijoles de la hoya)and then I transferred some of the beans (along with some juice) to a pan and mashed them. I added a little bit of lard, a tad of milk and some cheese to make them creamy. The beans were PERFECT without adding lard, milk and cheese...I only added those ingrediants because I am mexican and that is how we have been refrying beans for generations. I couldn't break the habit :) I think next time I will try subsituting 2 cups of water for 2 cups of chicken broth.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
There recipe was easy but my husband and I didn't like it. After cooking the chicken for the time the recipe stated, my chicken was very dry. We used Jack Daniel's bbq sauce. The flavor just wasn't there for us. We won't use this recipe again.

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
YUMMY! I just finished cooking and eating this tasty chicken. Rest assured...YOU CAN NOT taste the mayo (besides mayo is just eggs and oil)! My husband hates mayo (and mustard) and he loved this recipe! I wouldn't tell him how I made it until he finished eating it. He begged me to tell him because he wants to make this at his fire station! It must be good! You MUST add seasonings to the mayo before you spread it on the chicken. I added anything and everything I could find in the spice cabinet (pepper, garlic salt, larwys all seasoning, lemon pepper). I then mixed in some shredded mozzarella cheese to the mayo. I cooked it as directed in the recipe and it was so moist! I HATE white meat (breast)because it is so dry, but this was so juicy! A new favorite!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2002
Yummy! This was my first pie ever and it was delicious. I did have a problem though...how long do we have to let it cool?? I had no idea..so mine came out a little runny when I tried to slice it...probably because I didn't let it cool long enough. Make sure to use an electric mixer. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
