About this Cook
I am a wife that loves to find new recipes to try on my husband :) I enjoy cooking authentic dishes and love cooking in my crock pot. You can visit me at www.FireWives.com
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Mexican dishes and good ole' southern food. I also love making casseroles because they're so easy! I love the excitement of going through my cookbooks to pick out the perfect recipe for dinner. And I love the reaction when it is a great one!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We cook tamales during the holidays....what a great time!
My cooking tragedies
A couple of times I tried some recipes from allrecipes on a crowd...without testing them out on my hubby first..lol..big mistake!

Mexican Rice II
this is it! this is a keeper! i cooked it exactly as written and it came out perfectly. the second time i made this i added 1 clove of fresh garlic with the onion and 1 teaspoon of salt (instead of garlic salt) and it came out wonderful. i am super picky with my Mexican rice because i am mexican but this is it! make this for you Hispanic friends and they will be impressed..trust me!!! you won't be sorry. give it a try.

Famous Pork Chops
Fantastic! I followed directions and used all the butter called for and it was great! After the 45mins was up, I uncovered the chops and turned on the broiler and I let them broil for about 15minutes to get them crispy. It worked!! But the butter in the baking dish also burned a little...so maybe put broiler on low.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Great. I cheated though: I used Frozen meatballs from Costco. I put all the ingrediants in the crockpot and cooked on high for 4 hours. Came out fantastic!!
