Breadsticks with Parmesan Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
Incredible. I halved the recipe (17 servings) and used one egg (instead of a half egg which the halved recipe suggests) and they turned out amazing. The lightest and fluffiest breadsticks ever. They definitely rival Olive Garden's! I will be tweaking the topping mixture a bit. I want more garlicky zip. I added some italian seasoning to the mix to make them look extra pretty. They were AmaZinG. I will be making these the rest of my life-thank you thank you! O, and for what it's worth- I am a very experienced bread/roll baker. I know good bread!

Oatmeal Sourdough Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
wow. i would have not believed a "sourdough" recipe would be this good! it is not sour at all. it is sweet, just as sweet as "sweet dinner rolls", but (thanks to the sourdough) the texture is amazing. they have a crisp outside and soft middles, soo soo soo delicious. The flavor and the texure are just unbelievable. must try!!

Chicken Salad Puffs

Love the flavor of the ckn salad- finally, someone really gets seasoning right! I added some dill and chopped grapes. The puffs turned out so cute, make sure you pierce them quickly and cook them long enough so they stay puffy!

Basil Tomato Soup

Reviewed: May 15, 2007
Who knew such a simple recipe could be sooo good? Yum. I cut the butter by 2 TB (6 TB instead of 8) and used 1/2 c milk and 1/2 c cream instead of all cream. This was fabulous. Tastes like the tomato basil bisque from a bistro we love. I'm pretty sure my husband had 3 bowls of it. Definitely try it!

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: May 6, 2007
Delish! These were so good. I added mushrooms with the peppers and onions and tomatoes at the end. Made pretty colors. :) Oh, and I used sirloin and it wasn't chewy or tough at all. Definitely try sirloin if you've had trouble with the round steak. Will be added to our keepers list! Thanks!

Triple Strawberry Cake

Reviewed: May 6, 2007
This just wasn't great. I expected more from it. It was like a refrigerated strawberry cake mix. Not good to us at all! Try the lemon cooler cream cake instead. I think that is a superior recipe. I won't make this again. Sorry!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

i started out making the suggestions other reviewers made: double the cheese, add more broccoli, etc. i ended up wanting the original recipe and adding more broth to even it out. really yummy, but next time i'll make it as is!

Strawberry Cobbler I

yummy idea- can't believe i've never made cobbler with strawberries before! but, i like a really buttery sugary rich topping on my cobbler, and this was more like a biscuit topping. it turned out really yummy if that's what you're looking for!

Bread Bowls

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
Let me qualify this by saying- i love sweet bread. sweet sandwich bread, sweet dinner rolls, etc. but this was too sweet for ME! the dough was perfect- so easy to work with and a great texture. but if i make these again, i will definitely cut the sugar. they turned out the perfect size bowls after rising and in oven. 8 for a full recipe is right on. they looked really cute and tasted good- just too sweet.

Salmon With Fruit Salsa by Jean Carper

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
I was looking for a recipe for a green salad with salmon on top and this is the closest I could find. So I improvised starting with this recipe. I made a salad dressing in my mini cuisinart (could use a blender too) with 1/3 c of the fruit salsa, 1 TB oil, 1 TB oj, couple pinches sugar, pinch salt and pepper. I tossed the greens with the dressing and then served the salmon (foreman grill 5 mins) on top and the fruit salsa over all. Wow. This was sooo good. An impressive dish, like a restaurant! We loved it. I posted the pic so you can see how yummy it is. It will be in our regular rotation. Thanks!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
Whew. I was nervous making this. I am an experienced cook but cheesecake is new territory for me. It turned out great. No cracks. I doubled the foil and made a shallow water bath in a jellyroll pan. I also came down on the temp to 325 but ended up cooking it alot longer so I think next time I'll try the recommended 350. I also used the recipe for crust that used cinnamon and didn't end up liking that flavor, I think I'll leave that out next time.

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
Yum! Fabulous and easy! Just like they all say, a restaurant quality dish. I made a half recipe and added sauteed mushrooms and a can of drained diced tomatoes when I added the pesto. You've got to add those! Also, my shrimp were overcooked after 5 mins. Definitely come down on that time, maybe even by half. And my husband and I both wished it had capers. If you like them, add those in too! I will next time. . . Also, I'm excited to try with chicken too! I could eat this every Sunday. Yum!
