Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2012
This is my go-to cheesecake recipe. It always comes out divine. I still haven't been able to conquer the "cracked top" problem that a lot of people have with cheesecakes, but that's a technique problem on my part, not the recipe. My mother can do it, but it still eludes me.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
Best banana bread I've ever made (and I make it a lot)! Easy and so moist, beautiful color. This is now my go-to recipe for banana bread. I also was able to make it once in a Nuwave oven and it had even more flavor, as if that was possible. It's still good without the nuts, but I think it makes the flavor really stand out so I would definitely recommend putting the nuts in if you have them on hand.

Love this recipe, this is the only way I eat tuna salad/sandwiches now! Super easy and I always have those ingredients on hand, so works great for me. Thanks!

Toscana Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
Superb recipe! I absolutely love this dish and is one of the family favorites (kids included)! I crave this at least once a week, but have to pace myself so we don't get burnt out on it, we love it so much! I've even made it without the cream (mashing some of the potato for thickening instead) and it still tastes great. Thanks Ken!

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
Great recipe and tastes delicious (this coming from someone that normally doesn't like pecan pie). DH adores pecan pie and insisted that I try making homemade for Thanksgiving this year. Well, I did and glad for it. Never realized it was so easy to make. The only thing I would do different is perhaps layer the pecans instead of mixing them in, but otherwise, it's a great recipe as-is. Oh yeah, DH gave his thumbs-up seal of approval. ;-)

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
Great recipe, super easy to make. I used this icing on Chewy Sugar Cookies on this site and they came out beautifully. I let the icing "set" for a few hours before stacking, much to the dismay of the kids ;-). This is now my go-to cookie icing recipe. Thanks!

Chewy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
Great recipe. Definitely got the seal of approval from the kids. Made these for "Santa" on Christmas Eve, with the boys devouring the rest. I also decorated some cookies with the Sugar Cookie Icing recipe here, which worked out beautifully. Thanks!

Great recipe and staple ingredients (for me, anyhow). This is the only recipe I use for pancakes, haven't bought pancake mix in years. Thanks Kris!

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
Absolutely has to be the easiest, best recipe for Italian bread. I have been trying to make a decent bread for years, usually failing miserably. I had resigned myself to the idea that I just am not a bread baker, but decided to give this a try to go with a batch of crock-pot chili. My oh MY! This was soooo easy and turned out wonderfully, nice and soft inside with a superb crust. The only thing I did different than the recipe was proofing the yeast first, letting the dough rise on my pizza stone instead of having to deal with a transfer, and skipped the egg wash (I was afraid of collapsing the rise, as is usually my problem). It baked 35 min on the dot, perfect loaves! Next time, I'll just keep it as one loaf instead of cutting into 2, as both loaves were gone by the end of dinner. I will never buy Italian bread again! Thanks Destiny!
