I'm a California girl. I love cooking, making art, and sunshine. I'm trying my hand at an edible garden with my tiny SF plot. I love playing roller derby and being on skates. I am easily distracted by a book.
My favorite things to cook
I love learning new regional cooking. I'm trying Indian now, which is very time intensive and is for those who truly enjoy cooking. The end result is always worth it! I also have a habit of making a huge deal/sculpture out of any cakes I bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is all about getting together and eating, so big recipes to please crowds are what I grew up with. I do enjoy gathering loved ones still, but I miss my family! I love entertaining.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triupmhs happen whenever I try something I've never had before and it turns out fantastic. I've still got lots to learn. I want to make tasty, mostly healthy foods and continue trying new ones.

Shrimp Francesca
This was so quick and easy, and the combo of flavors was great. Never tasted artichokes with shrimp and I'd like to keep it in mind for other ways to use the combo. All of the butter makes it extra yummy, thought you could probably cut it down by a quarter and still be buttery. I used canned, quartered artichokes. I also had to sub the romano for a taco blend of cheese I had on hand, still great. I used a fresh meyer lemon.

Easiest, Most Delicious Meringue Buttercream
This was so good and creamy! I followed the tips and whisked the egg whites and sugar until they reached 160 and weren't grainy at all. It took a little time to make and was well worth it. I'll be using this for all my homemade frosting projects. It wasn't overly sweet. Smooth and buttery.

Tiramisu Layer Cake
Delicious and easy! I used a bit more Kahlua for drizzling than called for, I like it so much :)
