Cindy's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2013
Best pumpkin pie I or my family have ever had. I warm up my ice cream in a pan on the stove. I also warm up the pumpkin puree in a pan; it helps get rid of the "canned taste". Anyone who's pie separated during baking OR needed to "stir" while it's baking has no business baking in the first place. I've made this recipe 3 times so far and never had ANY issues. Thank you for this wonderful recipe :D

South-of-the-Border Beef Stew

Reviewed: May 11, 2013
Easy, fast, tasty and filling. Doesn't get a whole lot better than that. I made a few changes but nothing that affected the overall taste of the dish. Worked for my family!

Calico Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
I use the recipe is a base for a lot of different things. A great go-to recipe when I don't know what to make. It's a little too sweet for my taste so I usually cut out a bunch of the sugar. I never have cans of porknbeans or butter beans, I usually use just pinto, kidney and black beans. Sometimes I throw in some sliced up hotdogs or bologna. It's definitely a recipe that you can play around with and not have to worry about messing it up.

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Great! Not quite as good as my special baked ribs but still better than most recipes. I will be making these again for sure.

Mrs. Baxton's Long Island Iced Tea

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
This is very good. I usually omit 1 ounce of sweet and sour mix because I can't tell the difference. Last night I used Sprite in place of the Coke because I didn't have any, it was still good.

Not too "cakey" and not too "fudgey," right in between. The perfect brownie recipe!

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
This is currently my "go to" BBQ sauce. It is VERY good on ribs. I haven't tried it with the hickory liquid smoke yet because my local store only carries the mesquite flavor so I simply do without..

Apple Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2012
Substituted the sour cream for plain greek yogurt and doubled the apples. This coffee cake does not last a full day in my house.

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
Very moist and delicious. I have made this twice now. Second time I was out of vegetable oil so I used melted butter and it made no noticeable difference. I substituted the included frosting recipe for a recipe I really enjoy that uses melted chocolate chips. I took another reviewers suggestion and used fresh brewed coffee instead of boiling water. This is the best chocolate cake that I have made.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
This is the best cornbread recipe in existence. I used evaporated cane juice, whole wheat flour and made my own buttermilk with apple cider vinegar. I will never use another recipe again. Thank you!

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
Doubled the recipe, substituted the dry bread crumbs for fresh ones mixed with fresh grated parmesan. Very very creamy and delicious. There is only 1 mac and cheese that beats this one, that is the mac and cheese from the Whole Foods deli counter (a recipe that they hide very well). Overall, very filling and very good!

Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
I replaced the margarine with salted butter and left out the salt. They turned out great. My wife hates molasses so I made her try it with her eyes closed and she immediately said "YUMMMMM." All of the flavors balance out very nicely.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
Like many of you, I was reading this recipe and trying to figure out if it's worth a shot and what makes these deserve the title of "Best Chocolate Chip Cookies." It looks to be a fairly simple "run of the mill" chocolate chip cookie recipe. But it is most certainly not! The cookies are simply amazing and you have to try them to find out. I didn't have any walnuts so I left them out and I used unbleached white whole wheat flour, neither was a mistake as they were PERFECT.

Merlot Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
This sauce is incredible. A must try for all steak lovers. Everything on my plate was dipped in the sauce at some point during dinner, it's that good! I followed the instructions exactly except I added 8 tablespoons of butter instead of 10. I think I might marinade my steaks in this sauce next time.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2011
My whole family loves this one, especially the wife because she has a sweet-tooth. My favorite meatloaf recipe to date. Putting the brown sugar and ketchup in the bottom of the pan makes all the flavor cook into the meatloaf making every bite amazing, definitely the way to go!
