Asian Tuna Patties

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
These were just ok. I served these as "burgers" on buns. My 3 year old who eats anything in front of him finally found something he wouldn't eat. My 6 year old ate about a quarter of his and pushed it away. My husband asked to please not make those again. Personally I didn't think they were that bad, but I won't be making them again. Sorry!

American-Italian Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
Good salad! I was searching for something else and this was the closest version I could find. I omitted the olives, salami, onions, and parsley. I'll make this again as a side and add those omitted ingredients for potlucks.

Lemony Steamed Fish

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2007
This was ok. In my opinion it was too seasoned, but I also didn't measure out the spices, I just sprinkled. My husband thought it was good, but would have been just as happy with butter and lemon juice.

Cola Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
I love the simplicity of this recipe! I was a little concerned while it was baking as I read others reviews that it smelled "weird". It did have a weird smell while baking, not bad, just different. It was very good though! There was no left overs at my house! I'll absolutely make this again.

Manicotti Italian Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
This is good. Nothing fancy. Quick and simple, no fuss meal. My 6 and 3 year olds said it tasted like pizza! I changed a few things like I omitted pepperoni and used pepperoni flavored pasta sauce, omitted mushrooms, and mixed a little cheese into the pasta/meat sauce mixture. Will make again for sure!

Best Brownies

As if this recipe needs another GREAT rating! Extremely quick and easy recipe. The frosting is the "icing on the cake"! Definite keeper!

Broccoli Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
Awesome alternative to traditional lasagna!!! I made some minor changes to lower the fat and calories. I omitted the butter and instead add garlic and onion powder to the white sauce. This is a definite keeper!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2007
I had this exact recipe from and old church cookbook and this is by far the best meatloaf I've ever had! I have always had to cook it a little longer than the recipe calls for. Definite keeper!

Apple-Raisin French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2007
This was much better than anticipated! Our family loves to have breakfast for dinner and I thought I'd try something different from plain old pancakes or eggs and toast. We did use syrup on top of our individual portions. This makes a lot and is very filling. The only downfall is the leftovers aren't nearly as good, they tend to get soggy. I'll keep this as a variety for our breakfast dinners but probably cut it in half for the 4 of us.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
This is a keeper! I know my husband will request this often. I used beef bouillon in the water when I boiled the egg noodles, just for a little extra flavor. Next time I may cut the onion soup in 1/2 because it was a little salty. Great recipe!!!!

Apple and Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
Oh this was soo good! The chicken tasted like it had been marinated all day! I also couldn't find cream of chicken soup mix in my area so I followed others suggestions and used 1/2 a can of cream of chicken soup. I also cut the onion soup mixture in 1/2. Oh..and I used grapefruit juice instead of orange only because I had exactly 1 cup left in the carton. Very very good!

Swedish Meatballs II

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
This was good. Not exactly what I had expected, but still pretty good. My sauce can out a little too thick, could probably cut the flour in half. The meatballs themselves were just ok, I could have saved myself time and just used frozen ones. I will make again with my own tweeks. Thanks for the recipe!

I used tilapia for this. Easy and tasty dinner. I will make again but will add some lemon pepper and a little salt to the packet. Still a keeper!

Broth Marinated BBQ Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
This is awesome!!! I used 2 beef bouillion dissolved in 2 cups water and an entire bottle of hot bbq sauce (scorned woman to be exact). I also threw in about 1/4 cup of chili sauce that I had on hand. I cut up a roast and marinaded all day in a food saver container. Thanks for the recipe!

Delmonico Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
I rated at 4 only because this was more scalloped potatoes than cheesy potatoes. The flavor was excellent! I made some changes...I didn't have frozen hashbrowns, so I diced potatoes then boiled them for a about 5 minutes. Then I added the cheese mixture (I used cheddar). I also used milk instead of half and half. Next time I would cut the milk and butter in half. Good recipe, but I'll make with my changes.

Hamburger, Potato, and Kidney Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
This is a good old fashioned casserole. The bacon does get a little overdone on top..maybe bake the casserole until almost done before adding the bacon on top would help. I used the leftovers as a base for breakfast omelets later in the week. Turn out really impressive.
