I don't have time to cook anymore since my husband bought a coffee shop in Cleburne, TX.  It's been quite an exciting time in our lives, but we are eating out way too much and I fear (as I'm too scared to get on the scale) that I've gained back all the weight I lost.  I've got to get some balance in my life so that we aren't eating out so much.

My husband doesn't like sandwiches, so that's out.  I had thought I could bring up a crockpot and just bring the ingredients I need for whatever I'm cooking everyday.  I think I'm going to try this next week.  I'd only need a small crockpot since it's just the two of us, so I don't think it would be too cumbersome.  So, I'll try Chili on Monday.  Anyone got a good recipe for me to try out?

Hi Jackie, sounds so ambitious!! You should come on over the the Recipe Exchange (see that tab across the top, the 3rd one over is Recipe Exchange). Come in and you can request recipes and lots of people will give you their best recommendations for crockpot meals. I just made some pinto beans in my crockpot today, super yummy and super cheap! Hope to see you on the Recipe Exchange.

Hi Jackie: Try the Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie recipe on this site, it is one of my favourite slow cooked meals, just following some of the recommendations and reduce the pepper in the original recipe. Evenutually the novelty of ownership wears out and then you will want to go back to eating healthier again, maybe you could incorporate some of your own menus into your coffee shops. I used to own a franchised fast food restaurant, when it first opened I worked a minimum 18 hours a day and had to eat at the restaurant. I actually lost weight because I had so much running around to do and heavy lifting at times to, but eating the meals didn't really appeal to me after a short time. I always smelled the grease on my clothes, in my hair, yuck. Anyway, try that recipe it is great and who knows maybe you will add it to your menu.

Thanks for all the great advice! I'll try the recipe exchange Cindy, and Janet, I'm definitely adding the Chicken Pot Pie to my recipe book.
