It really is the perfect shortcake. I don't have to look for a shortcake recipe any longer! The only thing I would do differently is use a pastry cutter. The frozen butter idea is amazing - in theory. I found it to be an absolute mess in practice. It doesn't take long before it starts to melt, then there isn't enough butter for the wrapper, and that's when you've got butter all over your fingers. I prefer to use the pastry cutter. Besides this, I found it easy and absolutely delicious.

Ultimate Chicken Sandwiches

These were awesome. My husband & I both loved them. I forgot to marinate them, and instead of buttermilk, I dipped them in egg as one user suggested. The coating stuck just fine this way. I also didn't have poultry seasoning, so I used sage & herbes de provence, and it was very tasty. I thought this was an especially good recipe because the chicken is baked, not fried, so healthy, tasty & easy!

Banana Oatmeal Crumb Cake

Delicious. We loved this! I didn't have walnuts, so I used pecans, and I forgot about the oats on the topping, but it turned out really well anyway. Without the oats on the topping, it actually cooked into the cake a bit which was really good!

Cola Pork Chops

These were great! I used a can of tomato soup instead of ketchup, since my husband & I are not big ketchup fans. I added some Worcestershire to make up for flavour, and sprinkled onion powder & garlic powder over the whole thing once it was in the pan. Delicious! Hubby loved it, too! I'll definitely make this again.

Borscht I

This soup was amazing. I loved it, and my husband even like it too! The only change I made (because I like beets) was I chopped the beets and left them in the soup. I fully suggest the dollop of sour cream; it really adds to the overall taste.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

I made this dish with a couple of the commented suggestions, like I added some frozen vegetables, but I also added herbes de province, and cooked it on low. The chicken was overdone for that length of cooking time, so best to keep it shorter on high. As well, I think next time, I'll add salt & pepper and leave out (at least most of) the water. It was pretty runny, but if you added salt & pepper at the table it was also pretty tasty.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Excellent! Both my husband & I loved this recipe; I will definitely make it again. I didn't have dijon mustard on hand, but I used (Mrs McGarrigle's) Canadian Maple coarse mustard and it was fantastic. Thanks.

Chunky Applesauce

Easy and delicious! My only modification was about 3/4 C of water, which I let most of boil off during the last 20 minutes or so of cooking. My husband & I both loved it - I will definitely make it again!

Baked Chicken with Applesauce Stuffing

Like Steve said above, I would definitely saute the onions & celery first, and add less applesauce & broth. The stuffing had a very delicious and unique flavour, but was too moist. Both my husband & I loved it so I will definitely be making it again!
