Wow - I'm not a big pie fan, usually, but happened to have 20 sliced apples I needed to do something with so stumbled upon this recipe. I have never made a pie with this technique before. I used this crust recipe: Allrecipes' Easy Homemade Pie Crust and it was a perfect pairing. The carmel flavor and crispy carmel pieces that end up on top are my favorite part - so yummy! Made it with granny smith apples and followed both recipes exactely. DELICIOUS! Best pie I've ever had, or made, and I made all my friends try it and they were very impressed with my culinary skills -- thank you for making it so easy!!

I used this crust for this (carmel) apple pie recipe: Allrecipes' Apple Pie By Grandma Ople and it turned out to be the very best pie I've ever made and ever eaten, ever! Delicious. Perfect!! It was so good I made all my friends eat it too and they were pretty darn impressed with my culinary skills :)

I thought it was good, as far as meatloaf goes - and one of my two children ate it - but the other child wouldn't touch it (no surprise) and my husband didn't like it at all. All he could taste was the oatmeal, I couldn't taste it all - so it's not going to stay in my recipe box.
