Jalapeno Popper Spread

This dip didn't sound good to me, but I needed a dip and this was quick and easy. I put it together and took it to a family Thanksgiving dinner. I heated it per instructions and tried it and it was delicious. I had to talk others into trying it, and the word quickly got around and everyone was loving it. I will be using this over and over. It is addicting and I have to make myself stop eating it. I spoiled my Thanksgiving dinner because I ate so much of this.

Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake

I have made this at Thanksgiving and Christmas for the past three years. Everyone loves it and it looks so festive with the swirls on top. It is not difficult to make and tastes delicious.

Apple Crisp with Oat Topping

I have made this dessert many times and it is the best. The topping is crunchy and the apples aren't too sweet. The topping is also great on blueberries and peaches. I make the crisp exactly as written, usually with honey crisp apples.

Rosa Marina Fruit Salad

I love this fruit salad made just the way the recipe says. I think it would also make a very good dessert since it is sweet and light. More kinds of fruit could be added also, but it is so good just the way it is.

Country-Style Steak

This is the way this Alabama girl was taught to make steak also, except I do not put the steak in the oven. I return it to the pan with the gravy and simmer it until it is very tender. Sometimes I use onion as another person suggested.

Pineapple Coconut Zucchini Bread

This is the best zucchini bread I have ever had. It is moist and makes a bread like a tropical cake. I made the recipe "as is" with no changes and plan to make another this week.

Broccoli Coleslaw

I have made this salad for a couple of years. I use the packaged broccoli cold slaw mix and unsalted peanuts in addition to this recipe. I also use less sugar and oil in the dressing. It has become a family favorite.

Buffalo Chicken Wing Sauce

Being from Georgia, I have never had a wing from Buffalo, but this sauce is the best. I used a whisk and had no problem with it separating. We loved it. I baked the wings because I am lazy, but will fry them next time. We loved it just the way it is made by Chef John.

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

My whole family loves this salad. It is really addicting. I have tried it with shredded cabbage as well as broccoli coleslaw, and it is almost as good. The recipe is easy and it tastes good the next day also. Beyond that, it doesn't hold up well. There isn't much left by then anyway, since the husband and boys go by the refrigerator and get a little periodically.

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

I have lived my whole life in the South and this recipe is similar to the way my family has made cornbread dressing for generations. We don't saute the onions and celery because they cook in the dressing. We always use stock from the turkey, so be sure to put a little water in the pan where you roast the turkey or else make some homemade stock. The canned stuff doesn't cut it. Pour the stock, the amount depends on the amount of cornbread and biscuit you have. I always add a few biscuits. Crumble the cornbread fine. When the stock has soaked into the cornbread add the eggs, onions, and celery and then add buttermilk until the dressing makes a batter. Put in some sage and wait a while and then taste. Sage gets stronger when it sets. Add some dryed basil,garlic, salt and black pepper,and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 400 and baste with butter several times as the dressing cooks. When you take it out of the refrigerator you might have to add some more liquid because it tends to soak in.

PHILADELPHIA Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake

I made this cheesecake last year as a Thanksgiving surprise for my granddaughter. She loved it and everyone else did too. I used a kabob stick to make the swirls and they turned out just like the picture. The cake is easy and delicious.

Cranberry Chicken II

This is our go-to dinner when we don't want to cook. It is quick and easy and something we both enjoy. We have it with Bob Evans refrigerated potatoes which are excellent, and usually something green. The cranberry sauce is good on pork too. I gave my son the recipe and it is a regular at his house too. Quick, easy and very good. You couldn't ask for more.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Like some of the others, I did not like the cream cheese in the recipe, and I did not like the consistency. I always make the recipe as written the first time. I will try it again with some of the modifications suggested by others. The sauce is very good and I will use it a lot with other desserts such as ice cream, pound cake, pancakes and waffles.

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

I liked these pancakes, but they were not the best I have ever had. We put lots of blueberries in the batter, but it still seemed like something was missing. Maybe I will put about 2T sugar in the batter next time. They were very quick and easy to make and I will make them again.

Garbanzo Bean Salad

We had this for dinner last night and my husband and I both really loved it. I put a little more onion, celery, and grapes than called for, and used walnuts. I loved the dressing and made it with light mayo. I can see using the dressing for other salads and with more dijon, it could be used with chicken wings. Thanks for a recipe that can be changed so many ways.

Slow Cooker Oats

I made this a couple of weeks ago and we thought it was very good. I just finished putting it in the crockpot tonight. This time I put in more apple (2 small galas), more raisens (1/2 cup) and another tablespoon of sugar. We will see how this turns out. It was delicious the first time, but we customized it to our own taste this time. I can't wait to experiment with different fruits and nuts.

Mushroom Pork Chops

I usually put about 2 cups of instant rice in the bottom of a 9 x 13 dish. I brown the chops (or chicken)and put them on top of the rice. I put the mushroom soup on top of it and add about 1/2 can of milk or water. Cook in the oven for about an hour. Make a vegetable or salad and dinner is ready. A great recipe to change to suit yourself.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

If you like chocolate you will love this quick and easy cake. It is yummy with a fudge icing or with sliced sweetened strawberries served on the side.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
