Japanese-Style Sesame Green Beans

I searched hard to find a good green bean recipe that doesn'r contain cream soups. Light & tasty. Goes very well w/ pork chops.

Bright Blue Monday Cake

This recipe has a very dense cake texture. I had to cook it 10 minutes longer than recipe states. A great way to use up those frozen blueberries from summer.

Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding

This is a very good recipe exactly as is. I was out of milk so I used fat free half & half. I also used butter. I served it with ice cream instead of the sauce. Yum.

Winter Solstice Soup

I made a few changes. Added 2T curry powder & some chopped celery. Used butter instead of margarine. Will make next time w/ half of the milk. It was a little too creamy for my taste.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

The only change I made was to use 1 cup butter & 1/2 cup shortening. These turned out well. I did not press down with fork. They spread enough just dropped on sheet.I Will probably half recipe next time. It's a lot of cookies.

Mulligatawny Soup I

I took this basic recipe and added a few things I had around. 1 clove garlic, handfull of chopped fresh spinach, 1/2 cup diced mushrooms were added to the veggies. Then when it was finished I removed 1 cup and liquified it to make the soup creamier & left out the cream completely. Wonderful taste and nowhere near the fat & calories.

Chicken Dijon

I changed just a couple of things to suite my taste. Veg. broth instead of chicken, fat free half&half, only had stone grnd mustard & to that I added 1 Tablespoon soy sauce. I served this over boiled red potatoes & garnished with dried parsley flakes. YUM!

Alienated Blueberry Muffins

absolutely the worst blueberry muffins I've ever made. They didn't rise at all. The texture was chewy and it took them forever to cook. I sure am sorry I wasted my berries!

Polenta Fries

First of all, this makes ALOT! They are so good. I halved the recipe and substituted dried Italian seasoning for parsley. I also used olive oil instead of veg. oil. My husband was amazed they tasted so good. Will definitely keep the recipe on hand.

Best Hot Crab Dip

I used imitation lobster instesd of the crab($8.95 for 2 claws) It was wonderful! I cut back on the liquid like suggested.Also tossed in some jalapeno.mmmmmmm
