About this Cook
I am an art student in Midtown Atlanta, exploring having my own kitchen for the first time! I grew up cooking with my parents, so it's not a new venue, and I'm learning every day.
My favorite things to cook
Meat is, by far, my favorite thing to cook and eat. Dessert is a close second, naturally! I love making unique kinds of salads and drinks, as well.

Chef John's Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
I cannot get enough of this cake. Followed the recipe to the T, leaving out the cardamom because I didn't have any, and added extra cinnamon. The cake turned out SO perfectly. Took it out of the oven early, because I love my cake soft and was sublime! I ate too many servings by myself! The caramel offsets the tart of the pineapple, and pairs really well with coffee. I've made it twice so far--it's my absolute favorite dessert.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread
Amazing! As suggested by other reviewers, I doubled the spices--and added a 1/4 cup of applesauce, since I was nervous about adding too much liquid. Made an orange/vanilla glaze, topped with pecans and it was absolutely amazing.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II
This is an absolutely perfect base recipe to make any kind of artichoke dip! Last Thanksgiving, finding ourselves at a lack of spinach, my mom and I used napa cabbage instead--it turned out absolutely delicious! When using this recipe, I did the same (substitute cabbage for spinach) and used a little less cream cheese to take away some of the fat content. I also added red peppers & some hot sauce, as suggested by KittyFanatic. It was DELICIOUS! I had to cook it a little longer to get the moisture out--about 35 minutes instead of 25. Because this was a gift for my mom, I threw in some finely chopped sundried tomatoes and dried cranberries because she loves both those, and the cranberries were sweet against the cheese. Good flavor combination. Awesome recipe to experiment with!
