To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
These were absolutely delicious! I only had frozen blueberries on hand so I used those instead of fresh blueberries. The changes that I made based on several other user reviews were using buttermilk instead of regular milk, adding a splash of vanilla and only making half of the crumb topping (I still had more than enough). They turned out fabulous! I will make these regularly!!

Shish Tawook Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
This was a great recipe! I added little curry powder but otherwise stuck with the recipe and it turned out amazing. Because it's snowing outside i put mine on a cooling rack in the oven on broil instead of grilling outside. I accompanied it with garlic naan from this website and it was most definitely restaurant quality! I will be making this regularly! Thanks for sharing!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2013
These cookies were excellent!! I added chocolate chips and vanilla and used butter instead of margarine and shortening. I also used 1/4 whole wheat flour and threw in an extra handful of oatmeal and whole wheat flour when I was mixing in the chocolate chips. Before baking, I refridgerated my dough for about an hour. The result was an amazing cookie!!! Thanks for sharing this recipe, I will be making these often!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2012
This was my first attempt at making a french baguette and it turned out very tasty! The only thing I was disappointed about was that it wasn't crispy on the outside like the loaves that I get other places but the taste more than made up for that! I will be making this again!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

This turned out great, I will definitely start making my own pizza more often!! I used to work in a pizza place and so I know a few tricks with pizza dough. I used this to make a pizza and some cheezy bread and both turned out awesome!!

Easy White Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
This was very good. I made several modifications to suit my personal taste. I added chili powder, doubled the garlic, doubled the cumin, added onion powder, tomatoes, green peppers, corn, and black beans, then added sour cream when I served it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because it was very thin, as others stated. Next time I will try pureeing some of the beans as many others have suggested. Great cold weather soup overall!!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2012
This recipe turned out great!! I followed it exactly as directed except that I didn't have walnuts and only had a cup of chocolate chips so I used some m&m's instead. Next time I will try the ground oatmeal suggestion that was left by another commenter. Thanks!

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
This recipe was very good. I didn't have a grill so I broiled my chicken on a cooling rack over a cookie sheet that was lined in foil. I only used one half of a chicken breast because there's only two of us. I only used a little more than half of the cayenne pepper and a teaspoon of salt both in the marinade and in the sauce. I also added a tablespoon of minced garlic and two teaspoons of garam masala to both. I had some leftover tomato puree so i used that instead of the tomato sauce but my sauce ended up being very thick so I will be sure not to make that substitution next time. I also replaced the heavy cream with half and half to make it a bit lighter. I ate it with basmati rice and it was delicious! I will definitely be making it again! Thanks!

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
This recipe is FABULOUS! I will be making this regularly! The only thing i did differently than the recipe called for was that I baked the bottom layer for 5 minutes before adding the filling (as another reviewer suggested) and I brushed the top with an egg wash and sprinkled it lightly with sugar. It turned out PERFECT!!!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
This turned out delicious! I used greek yogurt instead of sour cream and replaced half of the oil with milk. I ended up making it in an 8x8 pan and 12 muffin tins because i didn't have a bundt pan. My muffins collapsed but the cake had a decent shape... not sure what happened there. Still, even thought they weren't pretty, they tasted great!

Black Bean Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
These are GREAT! I used a little more than a tablespoon of espresso because I didn't have instant coffee and a teaspoon of baking powder like a few others suggested. I baked them, then went to the store while they were cooling. I was a bit skeptical when I got home and my whole kitchen smelled like beans but as soon as I tasted them I was impressed! Even my 21 month old keeps saying "more? more?" lol Definitely a keeper!

A Plus Fair Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
This was delicious! I made it just as suggested except that I used turkey dogs and didn't use the bacon fat because we don't eat pork. I took the suggestions of some others and let the hot dogs get to room temperature, dusted them with flour and twisted the dogs as I pulled them out of the batter and it all went perfectly. I LOVE that we can have corn dogs now!! I had some leftover batter so i buttered my muffin tin and made some cornbread muffins too!
