Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2012
This, for me, was a perfect dressing for Greek Salad. The only thing I changed, was to scale down the amount of dressing it made. Still perfect. KC

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2012
This was simply GREAT! I live in Australia and the flour is different than my home America and I have alot of problems with things like biscuits and cookies and cakes, so I was expecting something a little less than good, but it was just like bakery bread, maybe even better. Thank you. KC

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
These were the best meatballs ever!!!!! I like Subways meatball sandwiches but the meatballs are so blande. No more Subway for me. I used large Hot Dog rolls and smothered them in Pizza cheese. Perfect. The only thing I did different was to use Parmesan cheese instead of Ramono cheese

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2012
TheCcafe' I worked for made this every Tuesdayand called it Taco Tuesday. When we had left over I made Taco Salad with a base of lett, then the soup which was very thick, diced tomato on top along with french dressing and sour cream and surrounded it with Taco Chips. Never a bite left!! They seemed to like it better than the soup, because as a soupit just seemed to heavy. I am so glad to come across the recipe again. Thanks

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
I moved from Florida, USA to Australia and they had never heard of Sloppy Joes. I make hot lunches at the school once a week so I made these for them and they haven't stopped asking for them. I am making them again this week.

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2012
I worked in a cafe' that specialized in cakes and everyone raved about the frosting. This is the same recipe except it needs to have 1 cup shortening and 1 cup butter. That is why I rated it 4 stars, with the butter it is 5 stars plus. For chocolate just add a can of Hersherys Cocoa and 2 more oz cream. Perfect!

Buddy's and Bubba's Homemade Dog Food

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2012
I use to feed my dogs the BARF diet, but it was so involved, but haven't found anything I like to replace it until now. This is a great dog food, but to make it nutritionally balanced I added a few things. For convience I used 1 lb ground chicken instead of leg quarters. I added a heart, a kidney and a liver minced up finely. I LEFT OUT THE GARLIC and added 1/4 cup yoguart, two eggs and shells put into the food processor. I also added one apple and pear graded. I make a double batch since I have two dogs. With a few changes this is a perfect recipe. I feed them raw chicken neck and wings in the morning and this at night. What happy dogs they are!

Chef John's Boston Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
This is a good recipe, but this will make it great! For the problem with the ganache use: 1/2 cup crisco shortening, 1/2 cup butter and mix them together with you mixer until fluffy. Then add 1/4 teas salt and 1 teas vanilla. Mix. Add four cups powered sugar one cup at a time and mix well after each cup. Add heavy cream (not whipping cream) until the mixture is very firm but spreadable. (Weather conditions determine how much cream is needed.) When ready to frost top of cake place ganache into the microwave for a few min. Careful not to burn, but must be porable. ( Add small amount of milk it needed) Pour on the middle of cake and use knife to spread it out causing some to run down sides of the cake. Ganache will firm up after it cools. Also after you take cakes out of oven press down on middle of each cake to make it flat with the edges taken hump out of middle of cakes. This will not hurt the taste and will make a more professional looking finished product.

Sweet Sticky Rice with Mangoes

Reviewed: May 27, 2012
I have made this twice. The first time I used sticky rice and cooked it on a splatter guard on top of pan of water about three inches from rice and placed a stainless steal bowl over the rice. I turned the rice once during cooking. It turned perfect. The second time some of the rice cooked and some didn't and after two hour I just chucked it and made long grain rice. It was ok but I didn't really like it after having the sticky rice. I am going to try the micro wave and if that doesn't work I am going to buy a steamer. 1/2 cup sugar in the coconut milk and it was more than sweet. The second time I used Agave' sugar and it wasn't as sweet. The flavor was there but need to add more next time. You can also use tapioca starch in place of corn starch which I did. I also used 1/2 cups rice and i/2 cups coconut milk. I live in Australia and there are no Mangos at this time of year so I used canned ones. I preferred them and it was a lot cheaper. ( I really miss the great food in the US) You really can use any kind of fruit you like. This is really one of the best recipes I have tried on the site and 8 of my friends who I served it to agreed.

Taco Salad I

Reviewed: May 4, 2012
This recipe is great, I have been making it for years. The only thing different is I put the french dressing on the top like a salad. I am living in Australia now and they don't have french dressing and I so miss it.
