Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
This recipe is really tasty. However, I normally read the reviews prior to making a recipe and i wish I hadnt forgotten this time. It seems everyone left out the water, which was a good idea because my apple crisp had some serious liquid at the bottom. I'm not sure if this is due to the types of apples I used (cortland and macintosh) or the water (or both) but I could do without the liquid gathered at the bottom. Otherwise a good recipe and I would repeat it with different apples and no water.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
This recipe was okay. It made really tiny snickerdoodles if you were following the suggested amount. Also, I think 400 degrees was way too high to cook these. The bottoms of my cookies started to burn after 7 minutes. I reduced the heat to 350 for the second batch and extended the cook time a little. I probably wouldnt make this recipe again. I've made snickerdoodles quite a few times and this recipe didn't wow me

Traditional White Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
I thought this bread came out great. Every time i Have made bread it has come out kind of dense, but not this one! I halfed the recipe but next time I think i will do the whole thing. I also added a tablespoon of flax meal to the flour and salt before mixing and substituted half oil, half butter for the lard. Definetly a keeper.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
These were great! I brought them into work and they were all gone before I knew it! I took a few reviewers suggestions and used brown sugar for the streusal topping and it came out great. The dough was very thick which worried me at first, but after reading a few other reviews I realized that was normal. They came out fantastic!

Chocolate Velvet Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
This recipe was really fantastic tasting. I was, as many others, disappointed with the consistency. I took the advice of some other reviews and froze the ice cream over night. This made a dramatic difference. I also added a little vanilla a inch of salt to the recipe. Rather than using the chocolate chips I chopped up some chocolate covered almonds I had been given as a gift and added them into the mixture towards the end of the ice cream machine cycle. It tastes like I got from an ice cream shop!
