Beef Samosas

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2003
Thanks for the tip on baking them instead of frying. They are excellent! I bought a mint chutney from an Indian store and mixed it with a little yoghurt and used it as a sauce. It was an absolute hit at the party. I gave this site address to oh so many people that night!

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2003
This was a HIT at the office. I used time-and-a-half the quantity of condensed milk and caramel, left it overnight and served it on a platter piled high around with strawberries. They add a nice 'break' to the richness of the cake. I also used a round ladle handle to make holes - lots of them before saturating the cake. Thanks for making me a hero for the day !

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2002
A great recipe. I used all the spinach as was suggested and that's the way to go! I also used Triscuits (Vegetable) instead of bread. It was a great combination too!

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2002
I made this for the kids, but the adults gave it a Big WOW! The salt in the saltines gives this a really nice flavor. Wish I could find a thicker saltine tho'! If you're like me and haven't mastered cutting cookies neatly, keep in mind these can be quite messy. Overall - excellent toffee flavor, and fun texture. A must Try!

German Chocolate Brownie Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2002
My husband LOVED these but we thought they were too sweet. I'll definitely cut way down on the sugar in the cookie part next time. the frosting is fine, just don't overcook it, it'll taste like custard if you do.

Amish Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2002
These are fantastic! Buttery and not too sweet. Was a hit with the family - mostly the women. The men preferred the sweeter cookies I baked. Excellent addition for a 'holiday variety'. Keep the baking time to the bare minimum so as to keep them soft.

Cranberry Apple Gelatin Mold

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2002
A very tasty fruity and 'nutty' gelatin! However, next time I will cut down on the sugar and find a way to add a lot more sourness to it. Too sweet considering it's a cranberry side.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2002
You'll either really love or really dislike this recipe. The review by my guests were 50/50. I think the sausage gives it too strong a flavor. Kids gave it a thumbs down. But if you do want to make this, you'll have to add quite a bit of chicken stock to the batch you want to bake separately. Also, I used freshly squeezed orange juice which added to the flavor nicely!

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2002
I was short on time so I used hamburger instead and also used flour tortillas (out of preference). It was GREAT! Use low fat cheese too...can't tell the difference. This has been by far the quickest receipe for enchiladas!
