Thank you Kathy, for such a wonderful recipe! My family thought it was delicious, and it was SO easy to prepare.

Slow Cooker Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2002
Our family enjoyed this chowder! The suggestion of adding shredded cheddar cheese was a good one. We added it on top of our soup at the dinner table. We may double the amount of corn next time, but otherwise a great recipe.

Sauerkraut Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
I made this recipe for dinner last evening, and it was a hit! Using a crock pot, I put in all ingredients (I used fresh potatoes and carrots) except for the sauerkraut and sausage, and cooked it on high for 6 hours. I put the sauerkraut and sausage (turkey sausage, since that is what my family likes) in for the last hour of cooking. We do like the taste of sauerkraut, and may put in even more next time! Great recipe!

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2002
Wow! What a great recipe! I also only used one container of sour cream and cream cheese. I also made the recipe earlier in the day, cooled it off, then placed the saucepan in the refrigerator. When our guests arrived, I just put the saucepan back onto the stove and warmed it up again. Rave reviews from everyone!

This was a fantastic recipe. We had it as a side dish with meat loaf and green beans. "Comfort food"!

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
This recipe did made the pork chops tender and was easy to prepare, but I have to agree with a previous review that the soy sauce was overpowering. I suppose with the ketchup and brown sugar added, I assumed the sauce would be more on the BBQ side. Oh, well!

Mom's Italian Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
My family enjoyed this soup recipe! We enjoyed it even better having it a few days later for dinner. I also added the two cloves of garlic and thyme, which added a nice flavor.

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2003
This was a big hit in our house last evening. Yummy! I didn't have white wine in the house when making the dish, and it STILL tasted great. I also used turkey sausage in the dish, to cut down on some fat.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

What a delicious recipe! I also followed the suggestion of marinating the chicken in the sauce for several hours prior to cooking.

Vegetable Cheese Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2003
We really enjoyed this recipe! A great soup for a cold winter's evening. I did use chicken broth instead of vegetable broth. With a salad and bread, it was a hearty meal.

Borscht I

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2003
What a great recipe! There is only one beet in the recipe, so if you have never tried borscht before, don't be overly concerned that the beet flavor will overpower the other ingredients! My daughter insisted on brining some to school the next day!

Fabulous Cilantro Pesto

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2003
We used this pesto on top of spaghetti. I agree that the 5 cloves of garlic was a little over the top--if I make this again, I think that I would only use 2 cloves. I also might try to use half basil or parsely, half cilantro next time, since the cilantro has such a powerful flavor.

Pecan Breaded Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2003
This recipe is a keeper! My husband likes chicken breasts flattened, so I did this prior to cooking. I drizzled some additional maple syrup on the chicken breasts while cooking. With rice and baked butternut squash as side dishes--yummm!

Hash Brown Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2003
This is a great idea for when you don't want to or have time to make a traditional quiche crust and also if you like hash browns with eggs! We had ours with spinach (I used a half of a 10 oz. package of frozen spinach, thawed) and sauted mushrooms, instead of ham--a great main dish for Lent! I also followed the suggestion of 2 additional eggs, and baked for a slightly longer time.

Bratwurst, Potato and Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2003
My family LOVES cabbage, so this recipe already started out on the right foot! I followed the recipe, except for following Holly's suggestion of using sweet italian sausage instead of bratwurst (a favorite of my husband's). We will surely make this again!

Delicious. If you like salmon, try this recipe! The flavors are wonderful, and I agree with other "posters"--no "fishy" smell in the kitchen afterwards!! Yeah!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2003
Wonderful! Upon reading the reviews, this looked like one of those recipes that is "better the next day". So I made it the day before we were to eat it, and heated it up the next day, along with making some mashed potatoes as a side dish. I also increased the amount of sauce, as per a previous suggestion, which worked out well.

Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2003
This recipe is definitely a keeper! I also substituted the cream cheese for the mayo, and used basil and sun dried tomato feta cheese. My husband, who is not a big chicken fan, raved about the recipe over and over--and that is saying something!!
