Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
These cookies turned out great. I did what other reviewers suggested and let my butter become completely soft and added an extra tsp of vanilla. I didn't have any problems with dry or crumbly dough. Honestly, it may have been because I lost track of how much flour I put in. I made my first batch with probably 2 or 2 1/4 cups flour and the cookies were extremely soft and spread out but still tasted great. I added another 1/4 cup of flour and they stayed in their original shape better. Definitely only bake them for 8 minutes. They are very soft on the inside and a little crispy on the outside. Hope that's what you're looking for. I haven't tried using these as rolled cookies. I found an amazing recipe for rolled cookies on this site and I won't ever use another recipe. "The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies". They are perfect for rolling and decorating.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
These really are perfect rolled cookies. They rolled out well, cooked great and tasted wonderful! I made sure my butter was soft and almost mushy and I cooked them for 6 1/2 -7 minutes. These tasted great but could use some more vanilla extract for a little more flavor. These didn't last long. I made them last night and want to make more right now because the leftovers were finished off at breakfast.

Buttermilk Syrup

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
Wow! Amazing! The first time I made this I cooked it at a boil for 7 minutes. This resulted in a candied carmel dip. The next time I tried it I brought it to a boil then simmered for 5 minutes. It turned out perfectly!!

Cinnamon Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
Flavor was great! I messed up by cooking on too high of a heat which carmelized the syrup. It was great as an apple dip while it was hot, but was gritty the next day when I heated it up. Next time I will boil it on a much lower heat.

Cinnamon Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
these are delicious! I followed the reviews and added a full teaspoon of cinnamon. I think these taste better toasted, or eaten immediately after they are taken off the waffle iron. Mine always tend to get soft (even when I layer paper towels between each). This isn't the recipe's fault though, just my own issues with waffles. ;)

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
I followed this recipe exactly and they turned out fantastic. I followed other reviews with one batch of cookies. After I put the jam in the center I placed them in the fridge for about 15 minutes. They were full and perfect.

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
This was an absolute hit! I only made changes based on what I had on hand, but next time I make it I will follow the recipe. It's good to know it will turn out great even if it is missing some of the fresh ingredients (mushrooms).

The Best Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
I modified this a lot because after I toasted the eng. muffins and mashing avocados I realized I had hardly any of the ingredients... but I still loved it. It was too late to think of something new for dinner so I had to improvise. Here's what I used on top of the toasted english muffin: chive and onion cream cheese mashed avocados--sprinkled with salt cheddar cheese mozzarella cheese I know this is not this recipe at all, but this tasted great! I can't wait until I have all the ingredients to make the real recipe, it looks so good!

This recipe was surprisingly good. I don't even like cauliflower, but my daughter and I both enjoyed it.

Chicken with Bouillon

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
This recipe is great! It definitely needed some minor changes for my tastes. Like the previous posts have stated, it is too salty. I used only one bouillon cube. The chicken was still somewhat salty, but not too bad. The chicken was very moist and extremely quick and easy to make.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: May 15, 2003
This soup is EXCELLENT! I am pregnant and have had an extremely hard time eating food; so I have been quite wary of trying new recipes. This recipe had so many great reviews (and soup sounded so comforting) that I thought I should try it. I decided to follow the advice to use half as much cream cheese and it tasted TERRIFIC! I had a horrible time trying to put the extra soup away. Even though I was stuffed to the brim I still wanted to keep eating it because it is so delicious! This has already been added to my personal favorite recipe book that holds only the best recipes I have ever found. (I'm sure I'll soon have the recipe memorized and won't need the recipe at all.) I love it! Thank you so much for helping me enjoy eating again, Mary!
