Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2003
This recipe was delicious and extremely easy! If you’re in a hurry, this is the casserole for you. I did, however, make some changes. I used 2 cups of shredded cheddar instead of processed cheese. I also used cream of broccoli and cream of chicken soup. Curry powder, black pepper & paprika added a kick, and I baked it for an additional 15 minutes to heat it all the way through. My husband loved it, and we had plenty of leftovers!

Minnesota Golf Course Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2002
We loved it! I doubled the recipe and served it to 6 hungry friends on football Sunday. We had plenty of leftovers! This was a very simple chili for those who like the traditional. I added a lot of spice. It seemed a bit tame. I used red pepper flakes, red pepper sauce and more chili powder. It needed that kick.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
What a delicious treat! I put the smokies in a large ziplock baggie, and coated them with the brown sugar. Left them in the fridge for a few hours. Then, after wrapping, putting them onto toothpicks, and laying them on the baking tray, I took the melted sugar and poured some over each one. AMAZING. I've made them both ways, and here you get more of that great brown sugar flavor. Be sure to flip them over 1/2 way through baking to crisp the bacon.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
Absolutely disgusting. Do not waste your time, unless you're willing to buy the really expensive cheese that might melt better. It was gritty, and flavorless. I followed the recipe to a T, except for adding more garlic. Too heavy, and you do not need all of that parmesean.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2013
Yes,it was easy, but SO DRY! I even added a few tablespoons of butter to the crockpot, and under the skin, but unfortunately I dried the heck out of a $30 turkey breast. Oh well, nothing a little gravy can't fix.

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
Absolutely delicious. I was very weary of using taco seasoning, since I didn't want a taco-flavored soup. You'd never know it was in there. The seasoning added the perfect blend of spices and spice. I skipped the zucchini because I didn't have one, and added 2 cans of diced tomatoes for texture. 10 people watching football on a cozy Sunday all raved. Thank you for the perfect chili recipe!

Turkey a la King

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I'm sure the original recipe is fine all put together, but what's an "a la king" without green peppers & pimentos? I used a ton of fresh mushrooms, onions, and green peppers cooked in 2T of butter. I then added 1 can of fat free condensed cream of chicken soup instead of the flour & cream. (My boyfriend can't do milk products.) That made a great meal. Served over the mashed potatoes I had left from Thanksgiving. Made a delicious meal!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
I NEVER bake, so we were very nervous to try these when they came out of the oven. But, oh my, they were AMAZING! We followed the recipe exactly, except we took the advise of other members to crush up the banana instead of chunks. Everyone loved them, and the crumb topping was just that extra bit of "wow"!

Laura's Unbelievable Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
I can't imagine this being any good without some flavor! Use fresh spinach over frozen. You can add this with the cream cheese, and it wilts nicely. I sauteed 2 cloves of garlic in a small amount of butter, then cooked chicken for a few minutes until white on all sides. This seemed to lock in some flavor. I also added red pepper flakes, salt & pepper to the chicken for a boost. Overall this is a wonderful & simple recipe, although I had to thicken with corn starch. I think a can of cream of chicken soup would have substituted the cream cheese & chicken broth nicely. An ok recipe with changes.

Different Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
Satisfying and delicious! I made this recipe with low-fat ingredients, and you'd never know the difference. I also added the following:I used paprika, pepper, onion flakes & garlic powder to season the chicken before I added the remaining ingredients. I added additional similar seasonings to the sauce mixture. I used Stove Top chicken stuffing, and prepared the stuffing before hand with 2/3 of the required water. This left some to absorb the liquid from the sauce, but didn't leave all crunchy stuffing. A perfect mix! I will absolutely make again! Served with instant mashed and peas.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
Delicious recipe, and so easy! Absolutely double the sauce...you'll regret it if you don't. It will seem VERY saucy, but it bakes right down. I used 98% fat free soups and light sour cream, and I didn't miss a thing. I used a little extra Mexican cheese blend, served it with yellow rice and corn. A wonderful recipe! OOH...definitely spray your baking pan with non-stick spray. We had a MESS with sticking tortillas, but it still tasted great!

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
This sauce was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I personally like more garlic, which I added. This is by far the best sauce I've ever made. I had a party of 26 people for New Years dinner. This recipe made plenty for all, and was RAVED about. I can't stress how delicious this was, and you didn't need to add thing. Even my boyfriends kids loved it! The 3-year-old kept asking for more! I highly recommend!

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2003
These went so fast at my party! Everyone loved them. I did take it easy on the ranch mix, used whipped cream cheese and added a bit of low-fat mayo to help spread the mixture. Other than that, I threw some red onions into the mix and used lots of veggies. They were truly delicious.

Cabbage Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2003
Delicious with a few changes. I used low-fat polish sausage and added sliced red peppers. The peppers added flavor and color. I also used 1 can of beef broth instead of all of that water. Creole seasoning added a kick. We really enjoyed this, and had plenty of leftovers! Be sure you have a big pot to cook this in.

Red Pepper-Salmon Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2012
Absolutely delicious, and the sauce is SO versatile. I had everything on hand expect the cilantro, but I bet it would be even better with it. To give it some color, I added some chopped spinach to the sauce as it cooked down. Delicious! This had just the right about of heat from the jalapenos. I didn't bother to add 1/2 and 1/2 as some suggested. As good as a cream sauce may have been, it doesn't need it. The only change I might make next time is to broil the salmon to give it that nice firm flakiness. Baking is left the color a little weak.

Reuben Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
What can be bad about this pizza?? I usually like to add my own flair to recipes, but I followed this to the letter, and it was PERFECT. The caraway seeds were a nice touch, but definitely not necessary, and I did not add the pickles. I really can't find a flaw. Delicious!

The Real Mojito

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
We just got back from Mexico, and were craving this delicious drink! This recipe was even BETTER than theirs! Absolutely make the simple sugar (1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water in a saucepan. Heat very slowly, stirring constantly, until the liquid is clear). We used pint glasses, so 2 large spoons of it was plenty. I followed the recipe step by step, and we all really enjoyed them!

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

I'm only giving this 4 stars because I think it's absolutely necessary to double the dressing. Otherwise, amazing flavor, great recipe. I did also add what feta I had left in my fridge, and it was really delicious!!
