About this Cook
Married to a pilot, with 4 kids. Working full time as a teacher's assistant at the American School of Dubai. I try to squeeze in some quilting, beading, tennis and running.
My favorite things to cook
Anything fast and furious, but fabulous!
My favorite family cooking traditions
The family loves our Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter food... although it just about kills me every year. I have also been making some new recipes from this web site that are going to create memories.
My cooking triumphs
Simple things that people think take a long time or are a tremendous effort.
My cooking tragedies
Last Christmas I made a Baked Alaska Bomb and brought it to a friends house for one of the desserts. It had a brownie base and three colors of ice cream (strawberry, pistachio and vanilla) in the middle. Then I put the pre-made meringue on top. It had really shrunk since I had made it at home, but I decided to go with it. Of course, it melted the ice cream when I put it in the oven to brown the meringue. When I pulled it out, it slid off the cookie sheet and all down between the counter and the stove...IN MY FRIEND'S KITCHEN!

Earthquake Cookies
I used a milk chocolate mix as that was on hand. I scooped the batter with a spoon immediately into the icing sugar and rolled them into 1 1/2" balls. Got 29 large cookies. I took them out after 10 min. when they were still soft ... and YUMMY! A little sweet for me. I would reduce the sugar if they were from scratch, but they will be loved by the kids.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast
Loved it! Veggies were wonderful and not mushy even after 9 hours of cooking. Meat was tender, and held its shape. I made the gravy by pouring out the liquid into a bowl and whisking in flour. Added whatever veggies I wanted, but the mushrooms in the last half hour. No need to look for another pot roast recipe.
