German Leek and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
The soup was good, a bit bland, but just not one I'd make over again. Maybe I'm not a fan of leeks after all!

Tofu Parmigiana

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
This dish is delicious! I used a jar of pasta sauce instead of making my own sauce. And I sauteed some mushrooms after frying the tofu, sprinkled the mushrooms on top of the dish, and it was yummy! Hubby loves it too- gobbled it right up!

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2005
The dough came out too sticky so I had to add nearly one cup of flour until it was at proper consistency for baking. Other than that, it was very, very, good and made an excellent deep-dish pizza crust.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: May 12, 2006
I made this recipe with a 5-lb bird and it totally charred under the high heat yet still was undercooked on the inside. I would recommend going with a lower heat for longer time rather than ruin a good chicken. Just my suggestion.

White Chili I

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
This is a fabulous chili! I substituted ground turkey for the pork, and left out the green chilies. A wonderful one-dish meal for chilly fall and winter evenings.

Pumpkin Gobs

These are delicious! Moist, chewy, and they disappear quick! Make LOTS! We filled ours with storebought white frosting to save time, but they were yummy just the same!

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
Delicious! The roasted garlic really makes this recipe! I "smashed" the potatoes, using red potatoes and leaving the skins on, instead of blending them until creamy. But this is just a personal preference.

Delicious! I added 2 more cups of broth to the soup to thin it out a little. So warming and hearty!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2010
Excellent dish, what we like to call classic California cuisine! I made only a couple of changes to the original recipe; added in black olives (sliced in half) and artichoke hearts with the chicken while it soaked up all that balsamic-vingary yumminess. I also added a splash of white wine, just cause I love it. Enjoy!

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
Oh my gosh these were SO good! Definitely restaurant quality. I must admit we didn't have fish on hand, so I used fish sticks. But it was STILL amazing! I love the mayonnaise and the honey-cumin sauce. Mmmmm!

Blue Suede Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
Beautiful cake! Everyone commented that they loved the blue compared to the currently hyped-up red velvet. The only thing I would change is to lessen the amount of sugar in the cake mix. Way too sweet for me! But I will definitely make this again. Thank you for sharing!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
Oh my goodness! Melt-in-your-mouth amazing!! The only things I changed were to use less butter (because I didn't have enough) and less sugar (because I didn't want the scones to be overly sweet. Turned out wonderful!
