Polish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
I normally stay away from any recipe that calls for a "cream of something" soup (yuck!) - But I braved this one and after a couple of slight changes it was exactly what I was looking for. I added some fresh garlic to the chicken as it was cooking and I thickened the broth with a small amount of cornstarch. The dumplings came out perfect! Everyone loved it!

Apple Cake V

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2005
Usually when I make a 9 x 13 cake some of it ends up getting thrown away - Not This One! The kids were fighting over the last piece and the husband guy loved it too! While I was mixing the batter I thought that maybe I had left out some of the ingredients as it was VERY thick (I read in the directions that it would be thick but this was thick thick!) I baked it anyway and it came out perfect! The only changes that I made were adding some cinnamon (can't have apples without cinnamon can you?) and substituted pecans for walnuts just cuz thats what I had on hand. The carmel glaze was fantastic - do not omit this step! Thanks for a keeper recipe!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2005
Super easy recipe to make and tastes great too! I used all the ingredients as listed except that I doubled everything to make the sauce and I used small, whole button mushrooms instead of slicing them. Even my picky 3 year old LOVED this. Will definately make again.

Lemon Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2005
The batter was awful - next time I make this I'd use a different batter - I would also pound the chicken breasts out a litte thinner. The sauce was very good and very easy to make - I added more lemon juice than the recipe called for as I like LOTS of lemon flavor. If we could give 1/2 stars this would be a 3 1/2 - the one has lots of potential!

Garlic Bubble Ring

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2004
This was easy and great! I made my own bread dough using the recipe from my Kitchen Aid mixer (French Bread)enough for two loaves (or bubble rings) - Instead of the parsley I used Italian Seasoning. I doubled all the dipping ingredients except for the butter and I still had some left over - husband LOVED it - kids loved it too and thought it was fun to eat (being able to pull it apart). If you're using a two piece bundt pan don't forget to put a drip pan underneath it. Will definately make again!

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2004
Great recipe! Made this for the first time when friends were coming over for dinner - normally I like to try a recipe first before serving it to guests - but this one was so easy it was mistake proof. I used the optional salt and about 3/4 tsp. cinnamon and I added some vanilla to the berry mixture. Served it with vanilla bean ice cream - everyone loved it! Thanks!

Party Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2004
Followed the directions exactly and this soup came out PERFECT! The best wedding soup I've ever had. Wouldn't change a thing. It is VERY easy to prepare - the hardest part is rolling all of those little meatballs - but well worth the time. YUM!

Enchiladas Suizas

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2004
Just as good if not better than the dish at my fav Mexican restaurant! I've made this several times as the recipe reads - but I've also made it as a lower fat/calorie version and have had equal results. Using fat free and low fat cheeses, fat free 1/2 & 1/2 instead of the cream, low sodium/low fat chicken broth and I steamed the tortillas instead of frying them. I love the verde sauce - it has just enough bite to it without being too spicy. Even my picky kids will eat this. Thank You Lisa for a great recipe!!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2002
I was looking for a good cake-like chocolate chip cookie recipe ... and I found a great one! As I was reading the directions I saw that the recipe makes 72 cookies - so I decided to cut it in half ..... OOPS! big mistake! 36 of these cookies won't last long around this house! I followed the directions exactly and they came out great! Wish I had this recipe years ago!
