I loved this pie. You know it is good, because she has it published in the Taste of Home pie recipe book which I bought at HEB 2 days ago. Anyway, I was skeptical that it would be too sweet and that it would be artificial tasting but with a few additions its by far one the best pies and you will want to share it with everyone. Ok I put in 2/3 cup sugar instead of 3/4. Perfect amount of sweetness. Used a reg (shortening, flour) pie crust that i just made, cooled it then I painted the inside of it with melted milk choc chips. This prevents it from being soggy.(I read this in a past review and it really works!!)Just make sure to put it in the refrigerator and let the chocolate set up before you fill it.
I didn't put the gelatin mixture in the fridge. I just set it aside and cut up the strawberries, when I was done it was cooled enough. Just make sure to pile a lot of strawberries on and sort of mix it lightly just enough for flavor. Thanks so much for this recipe. Love it and thanks for listening to this long review. Learn anything.. LOL I learn so much from the reviews I read.
