Hello. This recipe has several problems. First, the carrots will take longer to cook than the potatoes so they should be started before the potatoes in order to be finished at the same time. They should, more ideally, be cooked separately and pureed in a food processor before combining with the potatoes. Second, no matter how much mashing you do there will not be a smooth finished product. It will be lumpy. Finally, 1/2 teaspoon of salt will not be enough: try at least a teaspoon.
"Dutch Potatoes" was, for me at least, a real disappointment.
