I'm a wife, mom and lawyer who would love to do more with cooking, but I'm pretty much relegated to whatever is quick and tasty. There are some major food allergies to contend with in my house (including to poultry and crab -- can you believe it?), so it's all about being creative and versatile. I'm a bit of a fitness nut, too, so I am always interested in low-carb, healthy recipes that would also appeal to grade school boys!

I love to make pies, soup, cakes, and almost any kind of meat dish.

We indulge in beef tenderloin at Christmas and make sure we make plenty of lemon sorbet in the summer.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm....triumphs? My family says I am a good cook, so that's enough for me. I did make a cake covered in buttercream roses for a school cake walk that started quite a fierce competition on the floor!
My cooking tragedies
I once used a hand mixer to mash some potatoes and they turned into sticky glue. On Thanksgiving Day, no less.
