Scottley's Basic Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
I did NOT like this recipe. I tried it out for a friends birthday cake and was sorely disappointed. I will never use it again. The flavor was off, it tasted more like a dry pound cake then a moist yellow cake.

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
Easy to make; I would like a little more flavor; so I would add some seasoning to the sauce like some pepper and a little garlic or something. Other than that its great

Broccoli-Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
Loved it! I made my own poultry seasoning to save some money and it came out great. The flavor was amazing and deep for such a simple recipe.

Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
This was a great recipe that was easy to make; it was light and airy and had a very rich chocolate flavor; I gave it one less star as the chocolate flavor was almost too much.

Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
I gave this recipe four stars just because I did modify it a little. This cake is dense and worked perfectly for my aunts wedding cake as the base. I wanted a stronger base and not something light and fluffy. I added extra vanilla and half the sour cream, tasting as I went along to get it to the flavor consistency I wanted. This cake cooked beautifully. Although I did think it was baked as I did the toothpick test; it came out clean; however when it was cut into the center was a little undercooked. I would say to check it after thirty minutes at five minute intervals until you are sure its cooked all the way through in the center. Overall, fantastic cake!

Beef, Asparagus and Portobello Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
I used a beef stock instead of broth; but the recipe was delicious. I would make this again

Hunts® Beef Rigatoni Arrabbiata

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Made this last night and I added some cayenne pepper to give it some heat also extra tomato sauce; I used a large can of 20oz of sauce, rather than the suggested 8oz. The recipe was delicious though. I used a whole wheat spiral pasta so that it would hold the pasta.

Chicken Asparagus Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
I added an extra slice of cheese and brushed the sauce on each cheese slice to give it more flavor. I had plenty of sauce to brush onto the breasts and then coat with the bread crumbs still. Delicious dish; next time I'll add prosciutto ham :D

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
Amazing recipe. The coolness of the sauce evens out the heat of the fish. I like a little more heat so I actually coat the fish fillets in the cajun seasoning; but it makes them very spicy.

Ginger Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
This was an easy recipe to prepare so I gave it three stars. However for flavor it wasn't great. I added black pepper and extra soy sauce to give the veggies some sort of flavor. I would not follow this recipe again.

Banana Macaroon Trifle

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
The homemade macaroons really make this recipe work. I did add a layer of vanilla pudding to give it more of a thicker consistency. This is a great recipe and I love it.

Delicious recipe; I like pepper though so I would add that next time and I did double the batch it still came out very well.

Simple and delicious the best kind of recipe. I wouldn't change a thing. I used more tilapia and still had enough to coat four fillets for dinner. Fantastic love it

Dinah's Baked Scallops

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
Nice flavor, but the flavor wasn't very strong. The crackers were very soggy instead of crunchy as a crispy crust on the scallops.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
This is one of the best potato soups I have ever had. I added half a cup of cheddar cheese to the soup itself to give it more of a cheese flavor. However, other than that I wouldn't change a thing. I did follow someone else's adjustment to use 4 tablespoons of flour to thicken it a little. Amazing!

Candy Cane Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
These were very pretty but the cookies had almost no flavor at all. If I were to make them again I would change the recipe quite a bit to include peppermint extract and no almond extract. The candy does not stick to cookies so you have to use something to get it to stick like karo syrup or milk.

Christmas Stars

Delicious; but I wouldn't bake them eight minutes they need to be thin so that you can layer them. So I baked them for five and they were perfect.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

These taste great, but the peanut butter cups melt pretty badly when you push them into the cookie. I don't know how to fix that part
