Loaded Cauliflower

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2015
This is delicious and great way to disguise cauliflower if you have picky eaters that wouldn't usually eat it. A couple things I do to make this easier are, run the cauliflower through my food processor and then put it in a microwave safe bowl, cover with plastic wrap and zap it for about 8-10 minutes and let it sit for a couple minutes to steam through. Then I mix all the above ingredients, I substitute plain Greek yogurt for the sour cream for less fat, and bake as directed. Comes out great every time.

Tomato Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2014
I have made a recipe very similar to this for long time now. Learned it when I was living in Memphis, TN. The recipe I have calls for green tomatoes and no bacon. I recommend the green tomatoes, the tang they add to this recipe is great. I might try adding the bacon in mine, I mean everything's better with bacon right?

Barb's Firecrackers

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2014
This is really good, quick & easy! With that said I think this recipe is a great base to start with and you can add or delete what you want. I used black bean refried beans mixed with taco seasoning and a little salsa, added some shredded cheddar on top of the beans and the cream cheese guacamole mixture on top of that. Yummy! Oh yes, the cream cheese guacamole mixture is a genius idea, tastes great and keeps the guacamole from turning that unappealing brown color..

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2014
Made these this morning and they were a huge hit, especially with my kids! My 5 year old ate 4 of them with a strawberry cream cheese filling that I made. Followed the recipe as written except in the mixing process I mixed all wet ingredients together first and then added the flour and salt. Found these much easier than I expected. Thanks for this recipe it's a keeper!

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
I was attracted to this recipe first because it sounded delicious and second because it sounded like an easy crock pot recipe. I followed the recipe to the tee except I eliminated the browning the chicken first step. I made a big mistake not reading the reviews first because I thought I could turn the crockpot on low and let it cook 8 hrs while I was at work. This was a huge mistake, the chicken and the sauce burned the chicken was dried out, just terrible. I am writing this review so others do not make the same mistake. I will give this recipe another chance maybe on the weekend when I don't work. I will also update my rating after my next attempt.

Grandma's Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
I have been making donuts like this for years. The kids and I make an event of it, I fry them up and they get to glaze and decorate them. We also always fry up the centers that we cut out and make donut holes. Delicious, fun and quick!

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
I am making lasagna from a recipe I found on here but it called for jar sauce and I did not want to use sauce from a jar. Found this recipe and not only did it sound good but also easy. I decided to add more garlic as we love garlic and 1 clove just did not sound like enough, I added 4 cloves (did I mention we love garlic). I am also cooking for a crowd and several of them do not like onions so I put the onion & olive oil in the blender with the other ingredients so no one would know they were in there (I use this trick a lot). The last thing I did different was add fresh basil in with the parsley because I couldn't imagine marinara sauce without basil plus I have tons since I grow it. This sauce turned out wonderful and I will make it again and again!

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
This is an awesome recipe and super easy! I made it the first time for my daughters 17th birthday and it was a hit. I even had people say they usually don't care for Tiramisu cake but thought this was delicious. I followed the recommendations of doing two of the flavored layers and one plain and doubled the coffee and liqueur everywhere it is called for. The second time I made the cake I was in a bit of a rush so instead of making the frosting I used cool whip and flavored it with the liqueur and it worked out awesome so light on the cake not to mention quick and easy. I am making this cake again for an office birthday next week!
