About this Cook
I'm a wife and mother of 3 girls. I currently have a page on Facebook for cooking and baking called Tracie's Homecooking. I don't post things as often as I'd like to, but I'm working on that. I love to spend time with family and friends around a bonfire or playing volleyball or horseshoes. I especially love to make people happy with my cooking. Getting requests from people for certain dishes is really flattering to me.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is a lot of fun to me. But I really love to cook appetizers. I like to come up with fun apps for people to eat at Halloween parties or Super Bowl. Sometimes they're corny like a football shaped cheeseball, but they are all good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Canning and cooking with my mammaw and pappaw. I always had so much interest in what and how they cooked. My mom too since she learned from them. Now, I'm passing that on to my kids.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking a whole Thanksgiving dinner with stitches in my finger. I did it the night before and was kind of in pain, but I made it all from scratch. Cranberry relish, turkey of course, pies, appetizers, everything from scratch. It was worth it to hear the silence as everybody dug in.
My cooking tragedies
My first time making a roast. It was shoe leather dry. I wanted to surprise my husband when he came home from work. We had just been married a few weeks and he loved roast. I cried and he laughed (which was not the best thing to do). I only slow cook them now and they turn out delicious and moist.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken
I have made this recipe several times. I love it and the best thing is so does my family. We love Asian style cuisine and this hits the spot every time. I top it with green onions and cashews. For those that are complaining about the taste, most recipes are versatile and you can add or subtract spices as desired. I added more hot sauce because I like it hotter, it's a simple fix. Thanks for the addition to my menu.
