Crunchy No-Fry Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2013
This recipe worked great for me, especially since I have to be gluten free and GF corn flakes are much cheaper than GF flour. I always pre-soak my chicken in buttermilk which this recipe didn't call for and I did add eggs to the chicken broth because the flakes were not sticking as well as I like them too. Other than that I didn't make any changes. The chicken was juicy and tender on the inside and crunchy and tasty on the outside. It was super easy to make compared to the pan frying method! It'll definitely make the rotation in our household.

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
These cinnamon rolls were absolutely the best I've ever had. I found it rather difficult to roll them and think I will refrigerate for an hour or so before trying to slice next time. But all in all, a great recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
My family loved this dish! I've made it twice now and both times they couldn't get enough of it. The second time I added polish sausage and spinach, for a bit of variation. Next time maybe broccoli, cauliflower, and ham. Perfect side dish for the holiday meals coming up. Thanks for the recipe CathyM

Coffee Marinated Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
This marinade was perfect for us. The meat was very tender and juicy. Couldn't grill outside because of the rainy weather so used a variegated pan on the stove and laid a large piece of foil over top and tucked down the outside of the pan to keep the moisture in. It worked perfectly. It'll be a regular attendee to our meal rotations! I might even adapt this marinade for other meals like stew, pot roast, and chicken fried steak!

Mizithra Browned Butter Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
We came across this recipe by word of mouth several years ago and make it at least monthly. Doesn't really work with margarine but will do in a pinch if you don't have real butter. Definately need to carmelize the butter then basically sautee the pasta in the butter a few minutes before plating.

We love lasagna. We love Alfredo. But we did NOT love this recipe. Just wasn't a good mix for us.

Candied Kielbasa

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
My family loves this dish and has requested it several times. I've used the slow cooker each time so far but think I may try the oven next time as some other users have suggested to see what the difference is. I've also tried changing up the ingredients each subsequent time as some users suggested but think we like it best the original way. The sweetness with a kick is a perfect pairing for sauteed and caramelized angel hair pasta with lots of Mizithra cheese grated on top and a salad filled with all kinds of fruit and veggie goodness.

Didn't really care for this seasoning on green beans. Probably will not make this recipe again.

Polish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: May 24, 2011
Even after I added extra seasoning to each level, this soup was very bland. The dumplings were too heavy and flourie.

This is a great syrup for an occassional change but we'll probably use store bought most of the time.

Easy Blueberries And Cream French Toast Sandwich with Orange Maple Syrup

Reviewed: May 24, 2011
My family made this recipe for me on Mother's Day. They made the orange maple syrup mentioned here and also made the Dutch Honey recipe found on this site. The Toast was very rich and very good. We all preferred the Dutch Honey syrup to the orange maple. It was a great Mother's Day breakfast but we probably won't make it very often as it was quite time consuming, messy, and clean up took a bit longer than normal.

Taco Pie

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
Overall this is a good idea, but we found this recipe to be a bit dry and bland. Too many bready type ingredients and not enough moist ingredients. If we try this recipe again I'm going to add a small jar of salsa to the meat and not fully cook the crescents before putting the meat on to keep the bread a bit more doughy and moist.

Chicken Fried Steak Cuban Style

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
This was a great recipe for my family. I did modify it slightly by dredging the steak in flour, then egg, then the breadcrumbs. I also added all the spices plus paprika and ms dash to the flour, & pepper flakes to the bread crumbs for a spicier bite. I also cooked them in just enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan. They turned out great and my family loved them. Thanks for the recipe. UPDATE: I've made this several times now and it gets better every time. I've taken to cutting the steaks into fingers which cook much quicker then standing them on end in a paper towel lined pan to drain. I serve with homemade mashed potatoes and green beans. I use the oil and dredge flour to make an out of this world gravy for both the steaks and potatoes. Best Comfort Food Ever!
