David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
This was perfect! I did not have cake flour so I used all-purpose flour minus 2 Tbsp for every cup. Loved it!

Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2011
Good but not what I was expecting! With 40 cloves of garlic, I was expecting FLAVOR! Little disappointed. I will try making again, maybe, searing the chicken more, adding more herbs, I will find a way!

Cheesy Creamed Spinach

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
Love this! This is definitely better than any restaurant brand. With the exception of extra garlic, I followed the recipe exactly.

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Good basic recipe. Had to tweak quite a bit! Added 1/4 tsp ground mustard, 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder, 2 1/2 cups macaroni and 2 cups cheddar. Perfect!

Peppermint Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
Made a couple of adjustments. Did not use peppermint oil and used candy canes instead. The white chocolate was difficult to spread on top of the chocolate without melting. When it came time to break the bark, it separated :( Still delicious!

Mini Crescent Dogs

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
We used regular hot dogs cut in half and lengthwise and cut the crescent dough in half. These were the most down home appetizer at the party and they were gone within minutes. Love the buttery taste of the rolls.

Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Deeeelish and so easy to make!!! It would easily be a five star except it needed more pumpkin and spices. Next time I will add the whole can of pumpkin. The gingersnap crust was absolutely fanastic!

Breaded Ranch Chicken

Yummy change for ordinary chicken breast. A word of advice, we made 2 chicken and forgot to adjustment the amounts and it was way too salty.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
These are a perfect sugar cookie. They came out perfectly soft. I don't know how some people's dough was coming out crumbly & dry, if you follow the recipe there should be no problem. Make sure your butter is softened, not just room temp. I usually put it in the microwave for 15 sec or so and take out just shy of melting. Also, creaming the butter...you must really cream the butter! Whip it for awhile!

Looking for a little more flavor but was good overall. Even added extra extra garlic. Made with penne pasta and half-n-half.

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Loved this!!! I used challah bread and frozen blueberries. I had no problem with chunks of cream cheese. I cut the cream cheese into tiny cubes and it was a little mushy in the middle but yummy! Could use some cinnamon.

Northwest Steakhouse Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2010
Okay but not a marinade. The flavor was bold and delicious when I made it but I "marinated" my steak for four hours and it added no extra flavor. As a matter of fact, the second you place the melted butter on the cold steak, the butter becomes hard. The flavor does not seem to permeate at all. When I put the steaks on the grill, the butter melted, dripped off with my delicious herbs :(!

Chicken Noodle Casserole II

Ugh! After 30 minutes my noddles where still not cooked. I ended up adding another can of soup. 10 minutes later, still undercooked! When I finished, it was good but not worth the aggreviation!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Doubled this recipe and definitely needed tweaking. Added quite a bit more milk and corn syrup than posted, impossible to work with that little amount of liquid! I realized well into the recipe I had no extracts of any kind! And since this was going to my son's daycare I opted aganist liquor! The flavor was a little off and I truly believe the extract would have delish!
