Slow Cooker Tipsy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
This is a great recipe! I make it with 4 thighs so halve the recipe. I use one can of soup and vary the kind each time. Sometimes I add a little gravy to the soup. I experiment with different seasonings. I eat one thigh the day I make it and freeze the other three portions for the future. I serve with rice, noodles or potato. You can't go wrong with this.

Smothered Bacon Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
Delicious! Used some reviewers' ideas such as plain yogurt instead of sour cream and browning chicken and slightly cooking bacon first (did together). Sauce was very good and lots of it. I used a couple of chicken thighs and cooked for one hour. This recipe is definitely one I'll use frequently.

Chicken Enchiladas V

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
Another excellent enchilada recipe, very tasty and easy. The only slight changes I made were green peppers for the chiles and some mild salsa on top along with the cheese. Will make these frequently as I can enjoy a Mexican favorite without the drive to a restaurant (saving on gas). Highly recommend.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
I, too, must give this chicken 5 stars. Very juicy and so easy. I also put onion inside the chicken and rubbed the skin with olive oil first. I added seasonings such as thyme and seasoned pepper. The cook can play with the seasonings and enjoy the result. This will be my roast chicken preference now.

Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2008
Excellent recipe. I served it as a main course but it's a wonderful side dish. I, too, did not cook zucchini first and the consistency was perfect after about 40 minutes cooking time. I used garlic/herb bread crumbs for topping.

Easy Corn Chowder I

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
Very tasty, easy recipe. Only change I made was using kernal corn instead of cream-style. Had corn from our farmer's market I wanted to use. Highly recommend.

Creamy Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
May I add my "yums" to the other reviews? This is a very easy, tasty soup that can be altered by the cook. I used canned mushrooms and some Paula Deen seasoning plus some tarragon. Used my new stick blender to puree. I had used only 1 and 1/2 cups mushroom in the soup. I added the other 1/2 at the end, non-pureed. Terrific recipe.

Easy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2007
I agree that this is an easy, very tasty recipe. I changed the amount to four servings and it still made five large enchiladas. I also used the 3 cheese Mexican style cheese in place of the two mentioned. I used some green pepper in place of the chilies and spread a little mild salsa on top under the cheese at the end. A little less sour cream would be fine, perhaps 2/3 cup. I will make it again but next time I will change the amount to two servings and use smaller tortillas. I highly recommend this recipe! PS The filling, with less sour cream or soup, would be good in a quesadilla (which I make on my Foreman grill).

Cheesy Zucchini Casserole I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
Very easy, tasty way to use all that zucchini! I made two small changes, otherwise kept as written. I used less onion, about 2/3 large one, and less garlic salt, 2/3 tsp. The result was just fine. Having done it once I may play with it little-add mushrooms, bacon, or ground turkey for instance. It's a good recipe. Enjoy!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 8, 2007
Perfect way to do a pot roast. I used a small, one pound plus, pot roast and froze the rest (one pound) for later. I used only beef broth instead of water, added the carrots and onion and set it to high about an hour before the eight hour time period. Delicious.

Aunt Carol's Spinach and Fish Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
This is a delicious, easy recipe and one I will use many times. I do my fish in my George Foreman roaster (there is a shallow tray for fish, ham, etc)and 30 minutes was perfect timing. I, too, suggest leaving a little water in the spinach but, otherwise, use the recipe as is.

Lazygirl's Ground Turkey Stroganoff

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
This is an excellent, very tasty recipe. The only changes I made were to use chicken granules (handful) instead of the cube and only 1/4 cup of water. It needed no salt. This will be a favorite of mine. It would be good over toast, rice noodles, chow mein noodles or potato.

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2006
Made this last evening and it was excellent. The only slight change I made was using sharp cheddar for mild. It is a very tasty, filling dish and I highly recommend it. Would be fine for potluck dinners.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
I made this for the first time with no tinkering and it was excellent! I thought the consistency was fine and the taste yummy. It is simple to put together as well. I have a pot luck dinner in a few days and this will be my contribution!

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2006
Wonderful recipe. This will be my meatloaf for the forseeable future! I did what another reviewer did and used one slice of bread and 3/4 c breadcrumbs. The glaze is delicious and I will use it on other ground turkey or beef recipes. YUM!

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2006
I made a few changes and ended with a delicious soup. I always use ground turkey instead of beef in recipes. Instead of the tomato sauce I used seasoned diced tomatoes. I used 3 cups of water. I always start with less water than called for since one can always add more later if needed. One packet of onion soup mix is fine. Great recipe! May I recommend Minor's Soup Bases in place of broths. No waste. Minor's is used by restaurant chefs.

Haddock Bubbly Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2006
Excellent recipe. Very easy to prepare. I, too, sauteed the onion first and used cream of chicken with herbs soup. Will definitely use the recipe again, probably with different fish.

Nanny's Goulash

Reviewed: May 27, 2006
I, too, found this recipe delicious. What a great way to get your veggies! I used the diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano. I can also see how, with a little tinkering, this recipe can become a super soup.

Parmesan Potato Soup

Reviewed: May 12, 2006
This is a very tasty soup. I would allow more than 15 minutes prep time unless you chop at a professional chef's speed! I also added less milk to make a thicker soup. I had the recipe halved and the new measurements were fine.
