This is a pretty good recipe for M&M cookies, but they didn't taste exactly like I remember them tasting. As others mentioned, I did use butter instead of shortening--I'm just a believer that butter is best in most circumstances. Also, if you like your cookies to be pretty uniform, just roll the dough into balls, instead of doing drop cookies, but don't forget to put a few M&M's on the top. They turn out pretty, uniform and round with the pretty colored M&M's on the top.
