I admit it...I love pork. All of it (except Pig's feet and some other nasty incarnation that I'm sure exists that I'm not thinking of right now)....chops, loin, roast, steak, sausage, ham, bacon...ALL of it! (Heck, I even like pork rinds...but don't
tell anyone.) The problem -- my hubby…

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays now past, I am settling back into a routine. And I am determined that this year that routine will include cooking meals at home and relying less on restaurants. My husband seems to be onboard with this plan
as well.
So, I kicked things off on a good…

So, I invited a friend and colleague who will be in town this week over for dinner tomorrow night. (That's right...the week of Thanksgiving, I'm also entertaining. I'm cool like that!!) I pondered what to make that would work well with the frenzy that
I know this week will bring, and my…

You may not have known....I moved about a month ago. That's right...I moved next door. :-) You see, we had lived next door to my husband's grandfather since we were married. When his grandfather passed away, we had the opportunity to move into the
house...and we jumped at the chance since…

I don't know about you, but I had bake sales out the wazoo when I was a kid. My mom (wise woman that she was) quickly declared the 'Your Bake Sale, You Bake It' rule. Smart lady...I was in like 100 clubs/activities/teams/etc, so they really were endless!!
So, why am I reminiscing about…

This weekend I made tuna cakes for dinner. Anytime I make anything with tuna, it makes me think of my childhood love of tuna casserole. My mom made it with egg noodles and topped it with wheat germ. For the life of me, I have never found any other purpose
for wheat germ!!
Tuna casserole…

Over the weekend, I was thinking about traditions....specifically, food traditions. We really are creatures of habit, and it can be so comforting. For instance...Sunday morning = french toast at my house...not every Sunday morning, but more often than
not that is what we eat. And while…

I admit it...I am slightly obsessed with smoothies lately. What's not to like, right? I am a little picky about smoothie recipes...no ice permitted (mainly because my blender sucks)...banana is a must-include...yogurt is likely, while milk is optional.
I also firmly believe that frozen…

I am refreshed and rejuvinated after my extended vacation. As I returned to work this week, I decided to use this as a fresh start, in several regards. I am refocusing and reorganizing my work projects, as well as trying to get into a better 'maintenance'
routine at home. This is also a…

I have spent the past week staying with my little sister and her husband in preparation of the arrival of their first baby. She blessed us all by making her entrance into the world at 8:49 pm on May 31. Since that time I (who has no children, mind you)
have been trying to help the new…
