Easy Pie Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2002
This was very easy and it tasted better than store-bought and frozen crust. Will make again, but I won't pre-bake it this time- it came out a little burnt on the edges after I baked the filling in it.

Angel Hair with Feta and Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2002
This was very good and quick to whip up. I sauted the garlic with some pine nuts for a nuttier flavor. No salt needed- the feta cheese is salty enough.

Homemade Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2002
I've been making this since I was a kid. If you drop something solid into the container like a clothespin, the solids stick to it and it reduce the shaking time. I sometimes add different spices or fruits like applesauce for over french toast or put it in butter moulds to make it fancy.

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2002
these were great! Very tasty and crisp and much better than fried. I used a beaten egg to get the batter to stick rather than melted butter for a lower fat content.

Gorgonzola Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2002
This was very good. It was light, not overpowering like some gorgonzola sauces. I used half-and-half and it came out fine.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2002
Being from Maine, I had really high expectations ;-) but this was well worth the time. It has a very mild flavour and was easy to make. I cut the recipe in half and used one larger loaf pan instead of three. It baked a little longer than told (an hour 10 minutes), but this may just be my oven. Thanks so much for sharing!

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2002
Eh. It was okay, it's just easier and much less time-consuming to make it traditionally by adding boiled milk to the sweetend tea mix.

These were really good. I mashed up the leftovers the next day and they were even better that way.

Risotto with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Mozzarella

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2002
This was just okay. It didn't need the extra salt. Kind of bland and the texture was a little funky. Next time I'll try another type of cheese.

not very authentic as far as Manhattans go, but I'm biased because I live there.

This is such a perfect winter after-dinner drink. It works well in hot chocolate, too.

Gimlet

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
This wasn't very good. tasted like limeaid, not a gimlet. You're supposed to use Rose's Lime Juice AND fresh lime, and no sugar. I generally use vodka, too. Oh well.

Salty Dog II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
This is kind of an aquired taste, but I love it. I salt the rim of the glass instead of adding it to the drink.
