My 'job' is a little unusual, actually it's a little crazy.  I manage a stable full of horses, ride them, breed them, show them, board them and travel "all over Hayell and half of Georgia".  I have 10 horses of my own and manage 15 others.  This requires that I travel out of state 3 days/week every week and then add on top of that shows that run from 3-10 days or so each.  That leaves me little time for cooking sometimes.

When I was home more I always had something cooking on the back of the stove or in the Crock Pot.  A neighbor kid used to come home every day from school and head straight for the kitchen and say, "What's in the pot?" and if it met with his approval, we had company for dinner.  LOL!

His favorites were things like Ham Hock & Beans with Spoon Bread, Cheesy Chicken Casserole (a Campbell's Soup recipe I still use), Fried Chicken and of course, Chicken Fried Steak.  Cobblers, any flavor, he was there.  Bread Pudding....Oh yeah, here's Andrew!

Right now, I'm in the quiet time between shows, from now until about February I can slow down a little bit and cook and rest up and get ready for the next 'Go Round'.

Since it's coming winter and cooling down, I find I'm looking for great soup and stew recipes.  I LOVE soups and stews.  Of course, I also love Steak & Kidney pie, Chicken pot pie, Sheperd's pie and things like that.

This week I'm going to try a Thai Hot and Sour Soup recipe from the site and a Won Ton Soup recipe.  Can't wait to spend a little time in Mia Cocina and see what I can concoct...

So..........WHAT'S IN THE POT at your house?

Buen dia! Welcome to the cooking world on AllRecipes! :) I adore horses, had one for many, many years and wish I still did, but my job/life now does not afford me the luxury (and pleasure) of having one of these magnificant beasts... Your life sounds VERY busy and VERY satisfying! How cool for you! :) I had a pot full of soup cooking last week that I divided up and froze...It turned out fantastic - here is the recipe link: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/southwestern-turkey-soup/detail.aspx I did modify it slightly by using fresh vs canned ingredients (same with the cilantro, dried cilantro is just nasty) :)

beautiful! I know my middle child is totally fasniated with horses, it was part of therapy for her when she was younger and I hope that your H&S Soup turns out for you. Enjoy.
