Squash and Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
Made this according to recipe, except I used a shredded 4 cheese pizza package I had on hand, and added about 1/2 cup dry grated parmesan cheese on top. Also used a combination of Vidalia and red onions. Baked it uncovered. It was still incredibly juicy with a crispy crunchy topping, but great over a black/brown rice combination. Very delicious! Added a bit of garlic powder after cooking. Would also add fresh basil next time. It was fantastic! Will definitely make again!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
Had a variety of apples that were getting old, and needed to be used. Tried this recipe, adding vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg and cooked at 350 degrees for the entire time. My crust was falling apart, and my lattice didn't really look like it should have, but since I wasn't making this for company, I decided it didn't matter. I did as others had suggested adding 2/3's of the butter/sugar mixture to the apples before adding them to the shell and covering with the lattice. The other 1/3 had to be heated and more water was necessary in order to bring it back to a liquid. I then poured that 1/3 over the top of the pie. It was delicious.... Much better than anticipated. This truly is a uniquely superior recipe for a better than average apple pie! Many thanks to Grandma Ople and Moshasmama for sharing it! PandaMa

Lobster Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2012
Delicious! I added some diced fresh cucumber to ensure I had enough filling for two large sandwiches. Also mixed taragon and other stuff with the lobster, celery, mayonaise, lime juice, and hot sauce before putting it on the rolls. Made a great summer lunch when lobster was delightfully cheap!

Southern French Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
Excellent recipe. I added 1/2 cup of katsup and one large minced clove of garlic, but otherwise used the recipe just as shown, except I did use a blender because the mixer just didn't make the grated onion and other ingredients smooth enough. Don't understand why a blender shouldn't be used. Great dip for cooked artichokes!
