Herbed Potato Soup

Reviewed: May 22, 2012
So wonderful in comparison to how easy and how few ingredients are involved! My husband said it was by far the best potato soup he's ever had. I did add a spring of fresh rosemary and fresh thyme simply because I had them. Wonderful, try it!

Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Dijon Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
Delish. my tenderloin fell apart and it was more like a shredded pot roast, but the flavor was divine. I used reduced fat cream of mushroom soup and low fat sour cream, but it did not take away from the rich, creaminess of the sauce. Will definitely make this again.

Spinach Beef Macaroni Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
Delish! Suprised how much flavor this had, i was afraid it might be a bit bland, but it was really very tasty. i cut the recipe in 1/2, using only one lb. of meat. it was indeed quite a bit of prep, but it turned out really good and far healthier than any box of processed "noodle helper". My husband went for the hot sauce, but that is typical for him, and not a testiment to the flavor itself. I'll make this again.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
Very good. first time I made this, i followed the recipe as written and it was very delish and easy. It is reminiscent of something nummy I would get at a Chinese restaurant. The sauce is very very good over rice, but a bit overpowering without the bland starch to tone it down, so i highly suggest whilte or brown rice as a side for this. I'm getting ready to make it again for the second time, I think I might cut back a tad on the brown sugar and see if it's a little less sweet. no honey for me.

Beef Burgundy I

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
Excellent Rich Flavor. Easy to prepare. I followed the recipe using a Cabernet Savignon and made the following changes. 1. only used one onion (thats all i had on hand, but thats all you need) 2. I used 1 jar of siliced shitake mushrooms(also all I had on hand). 3. I did add about 3 tsp of minced garlic during the browning as others suggested. 4. added 1/2 tsp of bay leaves and doubled the black pepper. I served this over egg noodles and it got rave reviews. The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is it is a really soupy finished product and i even tried to thicken it w/ addt'l flour. but the flavor alone makes this a definite keeper and I will just work on reducing the liquid more next time. Oh, I also used cheap, cubed stew meat, and it was fork tender, and very very good. I did do the stovetop simmer as written in the recipe, but I can see how this would be a very easy transistion into a slow cooker recipe. Thanks for a easy and tasty recipe Faith!

Gumbo Style Chicken Creole

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2011
This was a great dish. I followed the recipe with only these exceptions. 1. Used cayenne pepper AND hot sauce, we like things to bite back, and that did the trick. 2. I did not have the tomatoes w/ green chilies on hand, but italian style tomatoes w/ garlic, basil, and orgeno. So I used these. I was going to omit the mushrooms as others suggested, but when I realized that would have to use the italian style tomatoes, I decided to go ahead and throw the mushrooms in anyway. Absolutely fantastic. I will definitely make this again. Thanks!!
