Hungarian Mushroom Soup

I made this exactly as written and it was delicious. Very flavorful...Slightly creamy, but not heavy. The dill and lemon are definitely the stand-out flavors but we didn't think either was too much. Thanks for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

I really wanted this to be great because it was SO easy, but it was disappointing. The root beer really didn't give the pork any flavor at all. I've had much better results with a rub or marinade. I guess if you pour enough BBQ sauce, salt, hot sauce, cole slaw, etc etc on any pork roast it can be good, but didn't think this was a great base recipe in itself.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

This is a good recipe to start with and can be tweaked to your liking. I followed others' tips and added beans (I used white beans) and just threw in frozen chicken tenderloins instead of pre-cooking. A jar of salsa is a great sub for the canned tomatoes. I also stirred in a can of refried beans at the end, which really thickened it up and kicked it up to 5-stars.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies were too cake-like for our tastes. I agree with other reviews that they didn't have much flavor outside of the chocolate chips. I followed the recipe as is, no changes. They weren't horrible, but definitely not the "best"...

Three Olive Spread

This recipe makes a fancy dish to bring to a party but is super easy to make. It's always a hit (among olive lovers, anyway) and friends have stolen the recipe for other get-togethers. Good on crostini, as a spread on a sandwich...it adds a pop of flavor to whatever you put it on! I make it pretty much as the recipe instructs, but just kind of eyeball the measurements...This one doesn't require exact amounts.

Cake Balls

This recipe is easy, can be made with a ton of flavor combinations, and makes cute treats worthy for a gift. I used white cake, coconut pecan frosting, and chocolate coating. I let the cake cool for ~20 minutes and crumbled while still warm. The icing was pretty thick so I thought warm cake might work better. I didn't have to chill the cake mixture before rolling into balls (maybe b/c the frosting made it greasy enough not to stick). Skewers worked much better than toothpicks for dipping. I sprinkled the balls with coconut and almonds to cover up the hole made by the skewer. Excited to use this recipe again with other flavors!
