Soda Pop Cake

This cake had a good flavor, but I found if not eaten fast enough (within two days or so) it becomes quite soggy and mushy. I added blueberries and strawberries on top in a flag pattern for the 4th of July....the vanilla pudding mixture however was tinted yellow..so that was a bit odd. I think I will just put whipped cream on next time and forget the pudding.

Cream Puffs

The recipe was okay. I liked the dough, but it did not rise...adding tips about making the puffs (since they are not easy to make) would be helpful when posting a recipe. I did not like the filling recipe. The consistency was too rubbery for me. I was expecting more of a smoothness. But, I will try it again using some reviewer suggestions such as adding vanilla and then going online to get some baking hints for cream puffs. I also think I will just use a pudding recipe with a little whip cream.

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

The crust was so flaky and tasted incredible. The filling was so good too. It was wonderful fresh out of the oven, with icecream on top. It was also good cold without icecream. The orange juice and the lemon juice were powerful next to the peach flavor, however, I really liked the uniqueness of the flavor. I didn't have nutmeg, so I just used pumpkin pie spice. It was amazing....will definitely make again. Oh, and I used peaches that my mother-in-law had jarred last year. Also, I didn't have cornstarch, so I used the same amount of flour...worked great.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

These were really really good cookies, and the looked so professional. They were easy to make with a wonderful flavor. The only caution is the dough is so good...that you might want to eat it before baking! We used mini chocolate chips....

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

This chicken looked really good, but upon cutting it we found the skin really dry and the inside undercooked. We had to roast it an extra 40 minutes for the chicken to be fully cooked. I might try it again in the future and do a few things different, but overall I wasn't impressed with this recipe.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

These were pretty good. I thought they needed a bit more moisture, so I recommend adding another 1/2 cup or more of milk to the mixture. This recipe can also be varied depending on your topping tastes.

Cinnamon Rolls II

The rolls had a very good flavor, and they were easy to make in the bread machine. I added extra butter, cinnamon, and sugar to make the richer...and I used a cream cheese frosting. I also did not separate the dough into two sections. I used all the dough to make 7 HUGE rolls...they were pretty good.

Banana Bread Cookies

I really loved these cookies. They were so easy to make, and they tasted incredible. I didn't really like the icing. It had a really good flavor, but I couldn't get the consistency right. I might try a different one next time. Very good cookies.

Butter Crescents

They were fairly easy to make, but I thought they lacked flavor. I used butter instead of an egg wash, but I don't think that made much of a difference. I think they need more salt. I tried the recipe a second time, and I made sure I used salted butter. I added another 1/4 tsp of salt to the recipe, and I also added some salt to the butter wash. The turned out great, and were a big hit at Thanksgiving.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

I have never liked homemade fried chicken, but I was having my boyfriend and his sister over for dinner..so I thought I'd try something new. It was so good. This recipe has an excellent flavor, and it was actually quite simple.
