About this Cook
I am married with a wonderful husband and a Russian tortoise named Ivan.
My favorite things to cook
Cooking dessert is a favorite of mine, and I love to try new recipes. Recipes with lots of flavor are the best, because I can use them
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both of my grandmothers are excellent cooks and they make some food at family events that is legendary! Pies, divinity, turkey, salads, and a whole lot more.
My cooking triumphs
A year ago I tried a new dish of winter vegetables in a white wine and thyme sauce and it was wonderful! It was so good my dad ate it and wasn't even bothered that there wasn't any meat in it.
My cooking tragedies
These are too many to count. I am the running joke among my family, my in-laws, and my friends as the worst cook ever. Most of my cooking blunders involve either (a) forgetting about the food and starting some sort of kitchen fire or (b) forgetting a key ingredient, ie the sugar in a batch of cookies.

Slow Cooker Potato Soup
I made this on the stove, rather than in the crock pot, and added bacon and cheese. It was delicious!

Mushion Pork
I liked this recipe but followed LEICCA's advice in the reviews and used white cooking wine instead of water, and onion soup mix. I also added some sour cream to thicken up the gravy. It was delicious!
