Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2013
Great recipe. I only had one cup of whipping cream on hand. I did not try to modify any other ingrediant. Also I did squeeze a half of lemon in the cream cheese mix before I folded it with the whipping cream. The designs are endless with this type of frosting. Bundt cakes are hard to frost in my opinion. But I was able to v use a stucco pattern. It turned out great

Hot Water Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
I love hotwater cornbread! The first time I made it was with my father about 5-6 years ago. I wanted to follow the recipe but I did not have any shortening. So I used 2 TBSP of Butter instead, came out perfect. I made green beans and smoked turkey with my slow cooker, my dinner was yum. Check out my reviews for Slow cooker green beans. Try them with the hotwater cornbread!

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
I made this punch for Thanksgiving! It was a hit! I only used 1 CUP OF SUGAR as some of the other persons suggested. It was so good that I kept 1/2 of portion for myself and took it back home with me! I cannot wait to have my friends over the just add the 7UP. Also if you can find lemons around this time that are inexpensive, they are better than the lemon juice in the bottle. Very yummy punch! BUT RECIPE LOVERS BEWARE! For some of us that have vegetarians in our family, let them know that it was made from Jell-o, which is an animal protien. the next time I make it for my vegetarian friends I may go searching for an Jello- alternative.

Slow Cooker Turkey Legs

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
Wow! First time ever making turkey. I was always too afraid it being bland and tough. But my turkey legs came out so flavorful (next time I will use a tad bit more salt). They were falling off the bone. My husband first words was WOW! Great recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Pork Chops with Garden Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
Great recipee! I happened to have all the ingrediants on hand except for mushrooms. So I added chopped baby carrots instead. Yummy, flavorful, and colorful! Next time I will omit the green peppers, add the red peppers and sweat peas! This will be a routine recipe in our home.

Crustless Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
I used bisquick for my recipe. Even though this quiche is crustless, the bisquick formed a bottom layer which was awsome! I used 1/4 of butter instead of a 1/2 because the first time I made it I was patting the top with papertowel because it was tooo oily. The next time I used 1/4 butter, you could probably get away with even 2 tablespoons of butter, really. I used 4 eggs to fill my baking dish, I also used sauted onions, red peppers and garlic, which is another reason why I used less butter. I mixed all my ingrediants except the bacon in a bowel and then poured it in my pie plate. Then I sprinkled the bacon on top and lightly pressed down into the batter. Then I cut into strips 2 slices of american cheese and placed them in a circular design after baking for 35 minutes and then I finished baking it! Vola! So good, the entire quiche gone in 30 minutes. Love this recipe!

Simple Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
This was my first time making short ribs. I do not like cooking, as I call it, "big beef" because it never comes out tender. Not this recipe! My short ribs were falling off the bone and so tender. I used guinnise beer extra stout. I will use a litte less because of the extra stout. But my husband said leave it the way it is. We just ate the last today for lunch and we were smacking, mm mm good! this recipe is a keeper.

Caramel Frosting V

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
I love this frosting. The trick to this frosting is that you must let it completely cool off before using your blender. I usually make the frosting the evening before, let it cool to room temperature and then let it sit in the refrig overnight. I mix it with the blender in the morning just warming it up slightlty, like for a few seconds. Love this and it spreads well over warm pound cake, not hot cake out the oven, warm cake please or it will look like a glaze.

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
I made this pound cake in a bundt pan, used swans down flour cake, sifted twice. Great moist cake. I have baked it twice and I have rave reviews each time. Such an easy cake to make. I turn my nose up at store bought pound cakes now!
