Oatmeal Cinnamon Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2006
Can't stop making these! I have been baking these super yummy cookies for several years now and they are one of my most requested no matter what time of year! I like fall flavors and add about 1/8 teaspoon of the following: Cinnamon, Cloves, Nutmeg & Allspice. This may help those of you who say they are a little bland. I just like the added spiceyness. If you have trouble finding these chips Hersheys website has a customer service number to call and find out which supermarkets in your area supply them. Or just ask your grocery store manager to order you some. Wegmans ususally has a great supply, I'm spoiled since I live only an hour from Hershey, PA.

Maple Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2004
THE ABSOLUTE BEST TURKEY I EVER HAD!!! Both the turkey and the gravy had the best flavor. It was the easiest turkey recipe I've ever seen. I also put the turkey in a bag, with the reduction, to marinate overnight overnight. I did, however, leave out the lemon. I will definately make this again and again.

Cinnamon Bread I

MMMMMMMMM......Sometimes something so simple can be your best recipe! The only thing I added was a 10x glaze. I had people coming back for seconds and sneaking thirds!

Bread Pudding I

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2004
I use this as a great base recipe. I omit the sauce and make either creme anglaise(when I have time) or cheat and make vanilla pudding but use extra milk to make it like a sauce. My secret ingredient is baking up some cinnamon rolls and using them as half of the bread(make sure you frost them for that adds more sweetness). I always layer the bread and cinnamon rolls in the pan and pour the wet ingredients over. It keeps the bread from falling apart. Just press down into sauce gently to get them all soaked. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar for a sweet crunchy crust! Fabulous!!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2004
I would have to say these are my most popular request from friends and family. Make sure you use an 11x7 pan and I use a metal frosting spatula that has an indent to spread the cream cheese and it comes out perfect. I do have to bake about 10-15 minutes extra. Make sure you bring to room temp when serving to get the best flavor. Waiting a day will also allow the flavors to mingle.

Peanut Butter Cookies II

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2004
I don't know what everybody is doing wrong because these cookies are just perfect the way they are. If you don't like coconut than try another recipe that is designed without it, obviously this recipe was not meant to ommit it so of course they would be crunchy. I always use parchment paper when making cookies, there's nothing like baking with it so maybe that would be of some help. And also make sure to use high quality peanut butter, cheap stuff will make it taste just that. Using a medium scoop to make larger cookies also works well. There is nothing wrong with this recipe!

Granny Mabel's Best Bar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2004
Yummy yummy! I went with the suggestion of using 3/4 cup granulated sugar & 3/4 cup brown sugar. You could cut down butter, but I found that by baking an additional 10-15 minutes it allowed the gooey topping to become more golden and crunchy. I used dulce de leche & it was just marvelous!

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
I took this to work and it was gone in no time! The moistness is unbelievable. I bake mine for about 55 min in a 13 x 9 and it could go longer without harming the cake. Everyone likes to eat the crust off the top so I feel an icing is unnecessary. Thanks for such a wonderful recipe!!
