Chicken Hariyali Tikka

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2013
Wow! I cannot believe how incredible this tasted. I swapped lime juice for lemon juice, used fresh garlic and ginger instead of the paste, and fresh serrano pepper instead of the paste. So delicious! So easy.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
Quite nice! VERY cheesy. I used all of the spinach and was glad I did. Definitely didn't miss the crust.

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
Eh. Didn't taste like much. Wish I had doubled the baking powder, too, as they were a bit dense.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
Very yummy. I did a little less sugar, a little more cinnamon, and I kept it really chunky.

Blackened Tuna Steaks with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
YUM. Bold tastes. Tasting the salsa by itself, I thought the onion was overwhelming. With the tuna, though, it tasted great. The tuna seasoning was spicy and bold; it left one of the best after tastes I've ever had. The cooking time also felt perfect.

Cilantro-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
Yowza. How is this stuff so amazing? I upped the ginger a bit, reduced the honey quite a bit, and otherwise was faithful to the recipe. It's got a kick! We both LOVED this and cannot wait to have it again. It's the perfect thing to do with leftover cilantro.

Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
So good. So very good. Can I just write "So good" again and again and you'll get the point? I can't get over this dish. EASY to make and, my god, just, so very good. Great blend of flavors, great balance of spice, and pretty light and healthy. I cannot wait to make this again!

Thai Ground Chicken Basil

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2013
Wonderful! A bit too spicy for my taste, but perfect for my fiance's. We got iceberg lettuce, but I'd recommend Bibb or red-leaf.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
This was great! Spicy, flavorful, and filling. I did not use two full cups of water, more like 1/3 of a cup, and I half-mashed both the beans and the sweet potato to give some texture. My only gripe:the tortilla got crisp in the oven.

Honey Glazed Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
Note: I did not include bacon. I thought the stuffed aspect was nice, and the brush of honey helped, but the chicken itself was pretty flavorless.

Roasted Sage Broccoli

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
There's bad broccoli, and this wasn't bad. But it just wasn't great at all. I wanted to be wowed, but it was... eh. Not a terrible amount of taste.

Quick Zesty Green Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
Wow! Surprisingly delicious! Such a simple dish, but really tasty. The beans get coated beautifully and the pecans make for some nice variation. To those of you who wonder if you'll like this if you don't also like Old Bay, you will! I generally don't like Old Bay (I know it from Five Guys' fries), but my fiance loves it so I made this dish, an we BOTH loved it.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
This was good. I enjoyed the crunch of the outside (I used panko, as other reviewers suggested), but felt it was too mustardy. Of course, I put on a lot of mustard so it's hard to know if that was my own fault. I wish the recipe spelled out to be a little frugal with the mustard, though.

Spinach and Leek White Bean Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
This was a great soup. I found myself skeptical, but as soon as I went to eat it (after a fair amount of salting, granted), wow, impressive! The cumin blends in really nicely, and I loved that there were various textures--the leeks, the spinach, the beans, the couscous. I felt really full after, and it felt like a healthy full.

Chef John's Gazpacho

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
This was quite good--I like the mix of chunk and puree, as well as the spiciness. I just wish it were thicker! Could be great with some toasted bread.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Devastatingly good. Followed the recipe more or less to a tee. Just made it into muffins (about 40 minutes in the oven).

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
This was a tasty, easy-to-make sangria. I cut the rum in half and added cherries. My main qualm is that what makes the sangria taste good--the citrus fruit--is annoying once you go to drink it. Do you strain the slices? Do you eat them? Eating them makes a mess. Next time, I think I'll make this sangria the same way, but before serving it to guests I'll strain out the citrus slices and throw in only edible fruits, like pineapple, apple, or cherries. I don't know how that will affect the taste, but the experience might improve?

Burrata Bruschetta with Figs

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2012
So lovely. I'd never had grilled figs before, but holy whoa, they were DELICIOUS. I didn't even have a grill--I just used a cast iron skillet. My only suggestion for improvement--go ahead and put the fig ON the bread with the cheese, instead of beside it. The combination of the cheese+bread+fig+balsamic is absolutely wild. Fresh mozzarella would also work nicely here. The figs are what make it.
