Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: May 22, 2004
I really loved this! I never would have thought of making my own applesauce. I substituted apple pie spice for the cinnamon and used twice as much. I also added a touch of brown sugar towards the end. (Almost as an afterthought.) This was wonderful!

Praline Strips

Reviewed: May 22, 2004
Very innovative and very good. I liked them. I should have taken them out of the pan right when I took them out of the oven though, as I forgot about them and had to peel them off of the foil. Next time, I will put them on waxed paper right away.

Quick Bread Mix

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
I enjoyed this recipe. I wanted something easy to make using the ingredients I had onhand. I used whole wheat flour and Splenda and I added diced apples as my fruit. I made it in muffin tins, which was really quick. I will make this again. (I had never used diced apples in a bread before and it was excellent.)

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2004
These brownies are AWESOME! It was the first time I made brownies from scratch and they were easy and SO tasty. I made half the recipe and put them in 4 cupcake foils inside of a baking pan. I didn't really pay attention to the timing, I just checked on them until they were the consistency that I like them. They taste really good. A bit heavy on the chocolate side, but great! The frosting was excellent in its own right. I am going to use it for other recipes. Thanks so much!

Pumpkin Chocolate Dessert Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2004
My 5 year old daughter and I made cupcakes from this recipe last night. I accidently left them on the baking rack last night and they are PERFECT this morning. Not dry at all. I did NOT use the pumpkin pie spice and they do NOT taste like pumpkin at all. Just chocolate cupcakes. Thank so much. We love these! (I also substituted a tiny (5oz) can of evaporated milk for the heavy cream. I used a 4oz kids sized applesauce pack and 1/2c butter because it's what I had.)

Green Beans with Bread Crumbs

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2004
I had a little trouble with the consistency after I added the bread crumbs, but then I added just enough spaghetti sauce to coat the mixture and it was FABULOUS! I really enjoyed it (with just a tad of red sauce.) Thanks! I never would have thought of putting these ingredients together.

Gaye's Microwave Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2004
VERY easy to make and came out great. (I liked it the best the next day after it sat at room temp in the plastic zip baggie.) Thanks. I will make definitely this again.

I didn't have any dressing, but this was really good without. Great idea. Everyone loved them!

This was SO EASY and tastes GREAT! Fun to make with my 4 year old. I can't believe how good it is. I'd buy this brand if it was in the store.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2003
This was a GREAT way to blend the ingredients. But the mix was not right for me. I scaled it to 10 servings (4 cups of water), but it was still too sour and too sweet. I added an extra cup of water and it was better, but still very sweet. I will try adjusting the ingredients. But I do love how there's no gritty sugar at the bottom...and it tastes the same at the top of the cup and the bottom of the cup.

Cheesecake Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2002
I had condensed milk in the house and I was looking for something easy to do with it to satisfy a sweet tooth. (I had no more fruit in the house for fruit and cream.) Since I had cream cheese and individual graham crusts, I decided to make a variation of this recipe. All I did was mix some cream cheese and condensed milk and put it in a mini graham cracker crust and bake. It was AWESOME! Even though I didn't use the exact recipe, I REALLY appreciate the idea. I was shocked at what just cream cheese and condensed milk could do.

Teriyaki Tofu with Pineapple

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2002
This was pretty good. I LOVE teriyaki and the tofu just sucks the flavor up. It was good with rice the first day, then cold on a salad the next day. Thanks.

Baked Mushroom Rice

The flavor of this recipe was okay, but I didn't care for the texture of the final product. Oh well, nice try anyway.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2002
Super easy and tastes GREAT! I made 1/2 of this recipe into 6 cupcakes to try it out. I whipped it alot with the fork to be sure it would be light and fluffy...and it WAS! My daughter added sprinkles to make it spotted and colorful and she LOVED it. Thanks!

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2002
These cookies were a big hit. I used Ghiardelli milk chocolate chips, as that's what I had onhand. I forgot to add nuts and they were still awesome! I made one cookie sheet full, then froze the rest of the dough in balls. It was SO easy to pop a few cookies in the toaster oven later.

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2002
I love these cookies. I lost the recipe years ago and am happy you have shared it. It was easier than I remember thinking it was 10 years ago. The cookies were great. I did over cook them a bit. They were chewy when I took them out, but were hard an hour later. I should have stuck to the time on the recipe. (My partner does not like these at all, but I LOVE them.)

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2002
I really enjoyed this carrot cake. I used 1 cup of applesauce in place of the oil, 1/2 brown & 1/2 white sugar, and King Arthur's White Whole Wheat flour. Still came out really good. Must be exceptional without substitutions! I ate it icingless, but plan to make the icing tonight.

Cottage Cheese Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2002
This meatless loaf was amazing. I would never have guess that cottage cheese and cornflakes could make THIS! I loved it. I used 2 1/2 cups of cornflakes, 1/8 cup of oil, 1/2 cup of walnuts, and added 1 cup of diced onions, green peppers, & mushrooms. Thanks so much for this recipe. It's wonderful. Hardens after sitting a bit. Can't wait to eat leftovers cold on a sandwich.
