Tree Trimmer Treats™

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2013
very cute result! Hard to find the licorice so we ended up using sour straws that we cut in half lengthwise. it was still a little wide, so some of the marshmallows kind of broke, but they still looked cute. The rice krispy mixture was hot to touch, and we needed to oil our hands frequently. Lastly, we used sprinkles instead of m and m's because of allergies, but those turned out well also.

Turkey Tetrazzini a la Stouffers®

very good. I used leftover gravy that I thinned out using heavy cream, sherry and chicken broth. This is a great way to used all the leftovers from thanksgiving.

Cream Soup Base

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
good base, really thickened up quite a bit to my surprise. Ended up adding a lot of milk to thin the consistency.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
It was good, presentation was nice but it didn't have a wow factor. It was the kind of dessert that if I saw it, I would want to try it, but would be a little disappointed.

Luscious Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2013
those who liked artichokes loved this. I only had fresh spinach on hand, and used that instead with great results. The whole thing was eaten quickly, mostly by one person.

Strawberry Pie II

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2013
delicious strawberry topping, but the whole pie was a mess. My kids said that Gordon Ramsey would be disgusted at the sight of it, would then taste it and say how good it was.

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2013
The crust had a pool of butter when I just took it out of the oven. It was really sweet and buttery, and did not hold together well as a pie crust should.

Party Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
looked good, smelled good, and tasted good. that something special was missing though. I did omit the celery, and chicken - maybe that was it, but don't think so. my meatballs did not stay together. They were on the large size anyway.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
very good soup, however, my meatballs did not stay together. Way better than canned, but something just a little missing. too much orzo relative to everything else.

Garlic Prime Rib

turned out great. made some au jus on the side and adding it changed the flavor to a little better, but it was really good either way.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: May 12, 2013
everyone in my family liked a different layer of the salad, but didn't like the layers as a combination with each other. To me, it was really sweet all over. I used a springform pan as someone had suggested, but the butter melted and seeped out of the pan and all over my oven! never again.

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: May 12, 2013
it was okay. I used medium grain rice nd that did not work out. plus, it needed a little more flavoring. not used to making rice on the stove, prefer using a rice cooker.

make this quite often. especially good when need to have a vegetarian dish. Like to use kluski noodles, and seasoned salt.

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: May 11, 2013
it was ok. used med grain rice which was a mistake. i also am better at cooking rice using a rice cooker, so i would consider this for next recipe. too bland, so added taco seasoning which gave it a kick.

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: May 7, 2013
rated this recipe prematurely. Still tastes great, but after a couple of hours really sticky and soft. I have to downgrade this to a 3 star, and it is unliekly I will make it again because of this sogginess factor.

Stuffed Shells IV

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
good but not satisfying. liked the idea of mushrooms, garlic and onions. worth the extra effort of sauteeing and washing an extra pan. Ricotta is more authentic. Didn't get gobbled up in our household, but it was easy enough to make.
