Made this last night and it was great with a few modifications. This recipe provides an excellent base. The added ingredients sent this over the top to great! I added couple of dashes of nutmeg, cayenne, garlic powder, curry powder (you could add more or less depending on taste). Then I added 1 TBSP spiced rum and a 1/4 cup of apple juice. I cooked everything in a stock pot, simmered like the method indicates and then pureed it all with a hand blender. Delicious and definitely makes more than 4 servings, granted I did use a large butternut squash
