Dad's Pan-Fried Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2006
This was a good recipe. I did as some of the other reviewers suggested and cut down the soy sauce to 2 T instead of 3 (I also don't like my food to taste too much like soy sauce). I didn't have whole fresh green beans on hand, instead I used a bag of 1 lb. frozen french cut GB and they turned out good. I have a family of six and this was our only side with our dinner so we had just enough for all of us to have one good serving.

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
I make a "version" of this lasagna, with exactly the same ingredients (plus an egg for the cottage cheese). I don't add any sauce to the meat, instead I add 1/2 cup of sauce to the bottom of the pan, then I add the rest of the spagetti sauce to the top of the lasagna. I think what makes this lasagna so good is that it is very simple and the most picky eatter will even like it. It's not by any means plain, tastes great and is so easy to make.

Potato Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2006
My mom used to make some tacos similar to this when I was growing up except she used real Mexican Cheese & she sauteed white onion & added it to the potato mixture instead of putting green onions in them. I love these tacos. We also put lettuce in them and ate them with Salsa and Parm. Cheese. Salt & Pepper should be to taste too.

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
The soup was yummy! I added a few more potatoes and used two different kind, red and purple potatoes. It was a fantastic soup. Very much like TOG's Zuppa Toscana. Would definately make this soup again.

Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2005
This is probably the best Spritz Recipe I have tried. I had a little bit of trouble with the cookie press because I grated the orange rind too big. Next time I will make sure I grind it finer. I made snow flake shapes and I dipped them in powdered sugar ~ it added a little something extra...yummy! I will definately make these again.

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
This was a good recipe. I gave it four stars only because it doesn't taste exactly like the real stuff, but it's a good substitute. Kids and grownups alike liked these very, very much. I decorated them with chocolate drizzle and some with cherries.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2005
Awesome. I have been making these cookies for three years now for our friends & family to give away at Christmas. The dough is nice enough where you can use it as a Spritz Cookie.

Chocolate Lover's Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
This is pretty good cheesecake, not the best I've had but it's definately good. It gave me a chocolate & cheesecake fix. My family all enjoyed it very much as well.

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
I had to try these to see what the buzz was about. They were okay. I didn't think they were anything extraordinary. They were definately VERY chocolatey, which I liked, but for someone who doesn't like a really sweet cookie, these would be a turn off. I would make these again but I'd probably cut the white sugar down by 1/4 cup.

Super Fajita Marinade

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
I gave this one a 4-star becuase I thought it was just okay. My husband and kids really liked the fajitas (made them w. chicken), but I didn't think they were the best I've ever had (I'm mexican so I've had some awesome stuff). I will probably make it again because I did like it, but next time I probably won't add so much lime.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
This was pretty good. I thought it needed a little bit of salt, but it was still good overall. I have few recipes I make "by the book", so of course I added my touch to it and added 2 garlic cloves, 1/4 cup chopped onion and 1 tablespoon fresh thyme & parsley to the butter/oil before I added the chicken. It turned out yummy!

Polvorones de Canele (Cinnamon Cookies)

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2005
Yummy! These cookies were good. I had been looking for a recipe similar to this one. I substituted Anise Seed Extract instead of the vanilla ~ since the cookie I was looking for had Anise Extract in it. I am happy I tried this because they came out perfect. Also I followed another reviewers suggestion and added a full teaspoon vs. the 1/2 tsp. it calls for in the recipe. Just as another reviewer stated, these cookies are meant to be dry. Polvo means dust.

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
Man, this cake was awesome!!! I also used coffee instead of just hot water. It gave it a little extra I think. Everyone loved it. I wrapped the left overs in plastic wrap and it stayed sooooo moist! Yummy :o)

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
My aunt (who by the way is Mexican :o)), has been making the same recipe for many, many years. It is a family staple at all of our gatherings. Infact if she shows up with out it, we all revolt! LOL Anyway, the only difference in hers is that she puts all the ingredients in the blender and puts it on high for about 30 seconds or until well blended. Less clean up and quick too.

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2005
Can't go wrong with a Classic! I don't like my casserole to be so juicy so I usually add three cans instead of 2 & a tad bit more salt. We love it! Try this with the Cheddar Cheese French Fried Onions, it's awesome!

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2005
I made this a few times long ago and hadn't added it to my Recipe Box, only made it using a printed paper, which I lost. The family has been wanting this for a while now, so finally I made the time to look through all of the Brocolli Caseroles on here to find it. I'm glad I did! I just don't understand why so many people gave this recipe 1, 2 & 3 stars! This tastes awesome. I do make two changes: 1. like a lot of the other reviewers, I mix 1/2 cup mayo & 1/2 cup sour cream in place of the full cup of mayo but that is only because my husband HATES mayo so I have to do that to all of our mayo recipes; & 2. I add about 1 cup of cheese more. Thanks for such an awesome recipe Stacey! Everyone in my family from a one year old to - well lets just say someone in their 30's - loves this!

Cranberry Sauce II

I've been using this recipe for years. It's quick and simple and I don't understand why more people don't make homemade cranberry sauce. Stay away from the can-berry sauce people! :o)

It's okay I guess. I thought it was missing something. Not sure what. I think I should have read some reviews before I made it.
