Alla Checca

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2003
This was good but I have to admit that I'm not a fan of raw garlic. Next time, I'm going to try using roasted garlic in stead.

Clark Gable Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2003
I love this recipe. It's simple and delicious. The pancakes turned out really fluffy. Someone suggested adding a bit of vanilla extract and cinnonmon to it and that makes it even better.

Chicken, Rice and Vegetable Soup

This soup is excellent. I didn't have any chicken bouillon cubes but it was still good without it.

These muffins were pretty good. Instead of adding 1 cup of sugar, I used 1/2 a cup and it was still good

A Number One Egg Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2002
This egg bread was very easy to make. I cut the recipe in half because I wasn't sure if the bread was going to taste good or not...but it was good! My mom thought I got it from a bakery! The bread came out very big! It makes me wonder how big the bread actually is, if I had followed the recipe without cutting it in half.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2002
It's pretty good. I recommend using stewing meat with a bit more fat... It's a bit more tender. Lean pieces of meat comes out a bit dry.

Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2002
I didn't think this soup would taste good because of the ingredients listed...it just sounded too simple but I was suprised! The soup was great and easy to make. I had kids over and they loved the soup!

Basic Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2002
I am never making this again! The dough was so stiff that it was so hard to roll. It was impossible to roll out the dough until it's really thin...unless you have a pasta making. It did not taste good when cooked.

Buttertart Squares

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2002
Pretty good... I had to make a few adjustments though. 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar was too much for me, so I added 1 cup instead. I didn't think the coconut flakes was a good idea but I used it anyways. I was suprised that I couldn't even taste it. I also added in a handful of chopped walnuts. That really helps.

Batter White Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2002
This is a simple to make white bread. It made my house smell like a bakery. I love the crust on the bread but you have to eat it while it's warm. The crust really softens up if you have it the next day.

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2002
This bread was ok. It didn't really raise and it kind of tastes like a flavoured pizza crust. I thought it was alright but my moms friends really liked it...

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

The oatmeal cookies are delicious and very easy to make. I didn't have butter so I used half shortening and half margarine and it still turned out great.

Milk Tart

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2002
I didn't even know milk tarts existed until I made it! It's soooo good! This recipe made about 18 mini tarts since I didn't have 2 pie pans lying around. This is a really light and refreshing dessert. The only problem I had was with the batter. It was a bit crumbly, so I drizzled a bit of milk over it so it would hold better. The pie shell puffed up quite a bit in the oven so I patted it down gently with the back of a spoon.

The cake turned out really fluffy, just like a cake made from cake mix. My family really likes this one. I would definately make this one again.

Baked Cranberry Sauce

This recipe was easy to make and it tasted great. Since I'm not a big fan of alcohol(and I had kids over for dinner and didn't want to get them buzz), I used 1/3 cup of apple juice and 1 tablespoon of brandy and it turned out just right

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2002
Very good cookies...I can't stop making them! The dough freezes well too. So if you decide not to bake all of the cookies, freeze the remaining dough so you won't have to go through the whole process when you want cookies!
